  1. What's the difference between winning a series and taking a series? variety
  2. Post up your predictions of what you think we can do. Be biased, be optimistic, be negative, be logical, do what you wish. I believe 20-14. Prediction (not based on anything but gut): @ Phillies [3 games] 6/1-6/3 [Marlins win series 2-1] (Day off) vs Braves [3 games] 6/5-6/7 [Marlins take series 2-1] vs Rays [3 games] 6/8-6/10 [Marlins lose series 1-2] vs Red Sox [3 games] 6/11-6/13 [Marlins take series 2-1] (Day off) @ Rays [3 games] 6/15-6/17 [Marlins lose series 1-2] (Day off) @ Red Sox [3 games] 6/19-6/21 [Marlins win series 2-1] vs Blue Jays [3 games] 6/22-6/24 [Marlins win series 2-1] vs St. Louis [3 games] 6/25-6/27 [Marlins win series 2-1] (Day off) vs Phillies [3 games] 6/29-7/1 [Marlins lose series 1-2] @ Brewers [4 games] 7/2-7/5 [Marlins win series 3-1] @ St. Louis [3 games] 7/6-7/8 [Marlins lose series 1-2] Total: 19-15
  3. My DirecTV just crapped out with the cloud cover. Sounds like a good thing.
  4. I was at the game last night (great game!) and noticed that some balls were hit very hard but could not clear the fence on the left side. From what I remember, both Marlins HRs in preseason at the Park were in right and right center. Obviously, it can be done on the left side (JD from Houston hit one out) but I saw Stanton, Ramirez, Infante, and Gaby ALL hit shots that just died at or near the left/left-center fence. Luckily Gaby's hit the fence for the walk-off. For those of you that saw it on TV, were those really shots or just pop ups and we were just being hopeful? Also, at this rate, we aren't going to see much of that home run celebration monument in action... only second game, i know.
  5. I wonder what the handicapped parking situation is. My dad has issues walking and it would be nice to be close. Here is what I found out: Handicapped parking at the stadium must be paid by visiting www.marlins.com/parking. Once at the selected parking facility fans with handicapped placard will be directed to any available disabled space on the ground floor.

  9. one thing to note---- not all of those surface lots are currently active. but they all will be by the end of the year.
  10. And here is some more info from my buddy in regards to shuttles/trolleys: OK- I got the final word on the rail to trolley thing: a) Option 1: Take Metrorail to Culmer Station and take an Express Shuttle directly to the game. $5 for the rail and shuttle (round trip). That doesn't include any Tri-rail cost if you are doing that (please note- as of now Tri-Rail shuts down at 930pm... that may change in the very near future but has not yet). Another note: If you happen to have a monthly pass or annual pass for Dade County transit, your pass will cover that $5 cost. Test runs show an average of a 10 minute ride to and from stadium. b) Option 2: Take Metrorail to Civic Center Station and get on a free trolley that will take you on a 30 minute loop around the hospital/medical area and then to the stadium. There are six trolleys running that loop... they are smaller than the shuttle noted above so you may have to wait longer to get one. But the trolley is free. Bottom line- if you are taking metrorail... might as well take metro to Culmer station to get to the game. Direct to stadium and back. Only $2 more (rail would cost you $3 anyway). Larger and more frequent vehicles.
  11. One thing I found out is that they will be selling parking passes online in next few days so if you have tickets but not parking you can buy individual game parking passes. Another things is for thos thinking of doing the tri rail to metro rail to shuttle option.... Tri rail shuts down at 930pm so that will only work for day games. More to come. Nothing specific on the day they will go on sell? I want to get 2 more so I have one for each of the tree games I'm going. Correction: It is up right now. If you want to prepay for parking, here is the link.... http://miami.marlins.mlb.com/mia/ballpark/parking_maps.jsp

I just went on and didn't see it as an option yet. Called Marlins- they said try again in the afternoon. You probably can call them and see if you can buy one from them or have them direct you to how to get it done, but would wait until later today.
