  1. Tommy & Rich said that Oviedo will start in A and then a couple of AA games and then sometime after the 15th he will be up with the big club.
  2. Loria and Beinfest ENOUGH ALREADY ! Get rid of him !
  3. I swear I have never hated a Marlin as much as this guy, not even JORGE JULIO ! Not even HANLEY? Nope...this guy takes the cake (and eats it too by looking at him)
  4. You knew it would happen. Just DFA him (can they ?)

  6. And what would we get for Hanley honestly? Trading him doesn't make us better. If he sucks, we're not going to get good value in a trade. And this is not a defense of his play. He's stunk compared to his prime years. I just don't think we're going to get 2-3 magical players that make us better. And Solano is not the answer... Actually you can get good value for Hanley, because a lot of teams are going to look at him as under performing and worth the risk. Maybe a year ago, but the days of Hanley great worth are over with. Well maybe you could get a stupid FO to pay a lot for him, but its been 3 years of underperformance. That seems more like trend than abberation. More like two years. The guy missed a lot of time last year as well. You know Boston has some sort of love affair with the guy and would probably love to trade for him. Good give us Middlebrooks for Hanley :lol
  7. As for Hanley, I want him to do well too, I hope he FAR exceeds my expectations of him, and proves me wrong. But I wouldn't count on it.
  8. "Slurp" my ass. No, I think I'll pass on that..... :lol (I couldn't resist)
  9. And if we don't get value for him, so what we didn't get value for Cabrera did we ? OOPS.....shouldn't bring that up again :jacobs :lol What kind of ridiculous logic is that? Dude I was being sarcastic

  11. In 2003, we had a pretty good month without Lowell. Just sayin'. Mike Stanton > Mike Lowell and you know it.
  12. Not saying we will, but teams have gone from last at the all-star break to winning the division ... Remind me to try and sell you the Brooklyn Bridge.
  13. Yeah, I don;t have much faith left i season now. 41-43..either go in AS Break at 42-43 or 41-44. Ummmm...err....we see I guess. That means this team probably needs to go at least 48-29 in the 2nd half. And you will be missing Stanton for about 25-30 of those games. Good luck...... Face it, this season is basically over.
  14. So Bryce Harper deserves it but Rugs doesn't? Bryce Harper has 3x as many plate appearances, so please stop that. ^ Maybe we can get Lenny Harris to throw out the first pitch. Lenny could be our rep. I would bet that Lenny Harris could come off our bench TODAY and be a better hitter than some of the crap players they have trotted out there this year.
  15. Well, the 1st half was rather embarrassing. $ 191 million for 4th place. Yep its embarrassing and the players, especially Bell, should be apologizing to Mr. Loria. This is dumb. He didn't spend $191 million this season. Don't be that guy. Reyes, Bell and Buehrle contracts add up to around $ 191 million. Add up to. That's not what he spent for this season. No he didn't spend it for the season. But he did spend the 7th largest payroll of this season. Can you call the play by the Marlins the 7th best in MLB this season ? This is a classic case of just throwing money around, and expecting it to work and win. Baseball is much more complicated than that, and maybe Loria is getting a much needed lesson. You need to focus on, and spend lots of money in the draft, scouting and minor league coaching, and some on good assistant coaches on the MLB squad. Then you have a real fighting chance. People on this board have repeatedly told us, that Loria doesn't spend on the draft, or scouting. But yet he expects to win ? I don't get how he expects to win long-term this way. I totally disagree with his philosophy, and so far his way is not working. 1 trip to the post-season under his ownership. That's bad ownership.
  16. You're not really getting it. If we had given them one-year contracts worth $191 million dollars, Loria should be very pissed for a number of reasons. They are making $24 million this year. So focus on that. Even at that, have they been worth $ 24 million ? I don't think so........so if anyone complains that their was only one rep on the ASG from Miami, its not anyone's fault but the players themselves, and they should be ashamed of themselves for their 1st half season failures.

He's stunk compared to his prime years. I just don't think we're going to get 2-3 magical players that make us better. And Solano is not the answer... I think the less is more comes into play with Hanley. It would 1st allow the FO to move on, and not keep waiting to make some moves because they sit back and wait to see Hanley start doing something. Sometimes you have to just "move on" and say, he just didn't work out for us. And if we don't get value for him, so what we didn't get value for Cabrera did we ? OOPS.....shouldn't bring that up again :jacobs :lol
  19. The arguing over the all star rep thing is stupid. Stanton was the only guy who deserved it. If it wasn't him, it really should be nobody. And that's how it is. I'm more disappointed that he won't be able to do the HRD. Actually, him missing a month makes it incredibly, incredibly, incredibly hard to mount a playoff run. Unless they come out of the gate with a couple of series wins and maybe a sweep in one of them, then if I owned the team I would be full steam ahead with planning for next season, and getting all my ducks in a row to see who I need to target next in free-agency. But I'm not sure Mr. Loria will give up that easily and I hope he doesn't make some foolish trades in the next couple of weeks and ships out the only good players we have in the minors for a futile attempt to get a playoff spot.
  20. Hanley's swing seems to change from game to game, he seems completely lost. His intelligence is what I am curious about. He's been in the game long enough to know to make changes but he doesn't. He's not going to be around much longer if he keeps this up for any more number of years. That's why the Marlins should try to move him ASAP. This guy is not going to get better - he is what he is and has been for 3 years - OVERRATED !
  21. You know I Don't care who on our team went. Just want someone to be there. Capozzi said Stanton is still our rep but that's stupid considering he won't be playing and he won't even be in the damn city. Well he shouldn't have been our only rep if Reyes and Bell had lived up to the big contracts that Mr. Loria gave them. This is not MLB's fault. You need to look on the roster and point the finger there.
  22. Stanton's numbers in May and Marlins record in May aren't a coincidence. There isn't enough on the active roster to make up for the loss. Well it would be Hanley if he was playing up to potential. So frustrating that he isn't. There's that word again, associated with Hanley - POTENTIAL. Well here's his chance. All those Hanley slurppers, he can really step up and prove to you your loyalty to him. His big fat chance. I don't think he'll do it, but maybe he proves me wrong.
