  1. I was cool with everything until Hanley. Big reason why we are out of this. See, why is HANLEY getting the blame for this? He's not the only one doing bad this year. Count em up, 17 players on this team are underperforming or sucking. You can not win with 68% of your roster doing sh*tty. Because the team is ADMITTEDLY BY OWNERSHIP & FO, built around him. He is the lynch pin. If he does crappy, then the whole concept of the way this team was built falls apart.
  2. Can't people stop saying "sell, sell, sell". Maybe their hinting to Mr Loria ? That might be a start towards redeeming the franchise. The myopic eyes of some on this board just don't see how bad of an owner he actually is. I've talked to many friends & colleagues around the country, and to a one, say our worst problem is our ownership. His defenders here will come out of the woodwork again and laud him about the stadium, but a real owner, with REAL money would have had that stadium built years before he did and would have had the team on track sooner. We've suffered for years because of his inability to build the stadium himself.
  3. They can sell if they want to, but in another 5 years or so we'll be right back here where we are now. They sold 7 years ago and where did that get us? I don't have the answers but that's no guaranteed solution. I have a hard time imagining another 5 years of waiting to end up with nothing. I know some people here will object to this, but perhaps its time we get some new people in the front office. We need to shake the organization up from the top. Those that object to it, either have a hidden agenda, or are too scared to make a change. There is no other reasons to be against it. This FO has proven over and over again its over its head and can't put together a winning playoff contending team. They can't draft, and can't sign FA's and its sinking the owner & the fanbase.
  4. Just nolasco and buck will cost us 17.5 million next year. A f***ing joke. Now where's that pic you all love to hate ?
  5. Don't trade anyone. Keep this team together!!!1 Why? Zambrano is gone next year regardless. Heath Bell ain't going to be good all of the sudden (he's been declining for years,) Hanley is the same Hanley we love to hate (not the 08 Hanley) We need new talent We need a new FO before we try to acquire new talent !
  6. I don't understand Zambrano's fascination with walking pitchers. He likes to live on the wild side. Holly Came From Miami, Fla Hitchhiked Her Way Across The USA. Plucked Her Eyebrows On The Way Shaved Her Leg And Then He Was She - She Said: Hey Babe, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Candy Came From Out On The Island, In The Backroom She Was Everybodys Darling, But She Never Lost Her Head Even When She Was Given Head - She Said Hey Babe, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. And The Coloured Girls Go, Doo Dodoo Little Joe Never Once Gave It Away, Ev'rybody Had To Pay And Pay. A Hustle Here And A Hustle There New York City Is No Place Where They Said: Hey Babe, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Sugar Plum Fairy Came And Hit The Streets Looking For Soul Food And A Place To Eat Went To The Apollo, You Should Have Seen Him Go Go Go - They Said: Hey Sugar, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Jackie Is Just Speeding Away, Thought She Was James Dean For A Day Then I Guess She Had To Crash, Valium Would Have Helped That Bash - She Said: Hey Sugar, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. And The Coloured Girls Go, Doo Dodoo
  7. It's kind of odd to wish for a fire sale. But we should. Next year's team should only have this year's bench players and people from the farm system. Do you have any inkling what a fire sale would do to the perception of this team and to the attendance next season? That would definitely be "same old Marlins". I don't know what the answer is, but everyday that seat in the FO must be getting hot for several longtime employees. Maybe if changes are made next year can be salvedged. You are the absolute definition of a one-track mind. So we should continue year after year to allow the same people to run the team ? 13 of the 15 other NL teams have made the playoffs since the Marlins have. If Washington and Pittsburgh make the playoffs this year, which right now looks like a good possibility, that will mean every other team has been since we have. That is incompetence and should not be rewarded with yet another chance to build the team. This FO squandered the new ballpark "honeymoon" with bad decisions and now Loria is stuck with a lot of bad contracts. Part of being a good or better than average GM is having a "gut feeling". If you don't have a good one, and time after time seem to have "bad luck" then what is the reason to keep them employed. You can't do much worse, and if you stick with the same what makes you think it will be better ? Anyone that doesn't see the logic in letting new eyes and new ideas run the FO I have to question their real fandom of the Marlins.

  9. I wonder what team gets for H2R, JJ, Animal, and Bell and Infante. Sell teh f***king farm. There is no farm thanks to.......oh well no need for that pic again.
  10. Sell the ballpark, sell the team. Sell it all. We can dream, but I'm afraid Loria is here for a while
  11. Hanley is god awful. Yes, put ALL the blame on Hanley. Don't put any blame on the two runners early who got caught stealing / picked off. No, those don't matter. Let's put NO BLAME AT ALL on Mark Buehrle who suddenly couldn't make pitches in the 5th inning. Let's not blame anyone else on the offense but Hanley, even though this offense mustered 4 hits and one walk off a guy with an ERA over 4 and a WHIP over 1.3. IT'S ALL HANLEY'S FAULT! God damn it, I know he's having a sh*tty season, BUT HE'S NOT THE ONLY ONE! They built the team around him....he is the lynch pin. If he doesn't do well (overall), the whole team concept for this squad crumbles. I said before the season to get rid of him. Most of the posters here didn't like that. Oh well........ :elefant
  12. Hanley is god awful. Squall hates you
  13. Cheer for f***ery! Jelena is that you ?
  14. Yes, I'm sure they're going to be able to afford both Stanton and Upton while giving gonzo dollars to under performers Reyes, Ramirez, and Bell. They did go after Pujols, Wilson and Cespedes last Off Season after signing Bell, Reyes and Buehrle. This off-season will once again be fun to watch. I just hope that this disaster of FA this year, doesn't scare off Loria. Because of the weakness of the farm system, and if he decides he can't go hard in FA in 2013, we'd better hope that Reyes, Bell and Hanley wake up next year. If not you could see a rinse and repeat for next years season. Can you explain what you posted in more detail please? Be specific. 15. There's an idea. How about Tony for hitting coach? Be an awkward conversation, though. "Look, we're firing your son, we want you to replace him." He probably would have been if he wanted it, same could be said about hawk. I think both of them are fairly well off financially, and at their age traveling with the team - I just don't think they want that at their point in life.
  16. So how much longer do we go with Eduardo Perez ... But its the players fault, not his ! You can't fire the whole team for sucking, so you have to hold the coaches accountable for the team's under-performance. Eduardo Perez has gotten a free pass for too long. Had the Marlins been any other team, Perez would have been fired weeks ago. The only reason he got hired is the same reason he hasn't gotten fired. Tony is his daddy. He needs to man up and quit. Well yes this is probably a factor as well.

  18. So how much longer do we go with Eduardo Perez ... But its the players fault, not his ! A fresh perspective might help I agree, but you replaced the hitting coach last year too. If you do that too many times, real veteran coaches look at the organization and just say "I pass" even on an opportunity to be an MLB hitting-coach. They think of the Marlins organization as "unstable", and you may not get your 1st, 2nd or even 3rd choice because of this. Then you end up settling for someone of lesser quality or some one probably too young to really be able to help. Would that person be better than Perez ?

  20. As far as I'm concerned the season is over. This is not a World Series team despite all the money we threw around in the off season recruiting all these under-performing "talents." We are not winning no World Series, and much less getting there, with the people we have on this team. But it's early ! :closedeyes Seriously, if anyone is still dreaming of being Pharoh (King of Denial) on this team, this weekend should be enough to convince you. If this team wins 78 it will be a miracle.
  21. I just love how the marlins show up at home in such a big series. Had to squeak one out last night. What can you expect, we leave a ton of guys on base against a top starter. Only nolasco can go from no hitter to 4 runs in 1.1 innings. Funny how Hanley keeps coming up in key situations and keeps failing. I don't expect miracles every time he is at the plate, but I would like to see our multi-million megastar be a bit more clutch than he is... Also wish he'd cut down on that big swing of his As I tell everybody when I talk about this. Other stars like pujols, cano, Cabrera, konerko, Hamilton who are the key cogs of their team come through in those game changing big situations (not just runners on) maybe 5-6 times out of 10. Hanley, who is supposed to be our key guy, comes through like wat 2-3 times out of 10 max. Watch out or the Hanley is God Squad will be all over you.
  22. 11 left on base by Hanley and Morrison. Good job. Only the biggest series of the year. But Hanley is the Savior of the World ! We can't get rid of him !!!!

  24. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic
  25. I just looked it up and the last All-Star Game in Cincinnati was in 1988. They might have an argument over us. But shouldn't they have gotten one before Arizona ? That's not how this thing works. They give priority to mostly newer teams with newer stadiums. The highest priority to teams that haven't hosted one before at all. We were going to get an ASG around 1999/2000 as mentioned, but probably due to the firesale and poor stadium Selig took it away (not to mention the ownership changes at that time). It seems like we and the Rays will be the last franchises to get an ASG, the way it's looking. But I have a feeling that Selig told Loria that he can essentially expect an ASG in the next couple of years, and they've been lobbying hard for 2015 since the stadium was nearing completion. I see what you mean but Great American Ball Park hasn't hosted yet but has been open since 2003. It has to be up there on the list too. It seems rather unfair to have one in Citifield since it already had been in NY in (Old) Yankee Stadium its last year (2008).
