March 18, 200422 yr You know those movies that are like teen drama like "Stand By Me" or "The Outsiders". What are the ones that you like to watch. I like "Stand By Me" (1986) because going looking for a dead body (as gross as it seems) with a group of friends is something that I would do. :thumbup I like "The Outsiders" because I think it's pretty cool, and "The Outsiders" is my favorite book. :thumbup
March 18, 200422 yr Billy Madison. Nothing beats a 28 year old man coming of age and realziing that he's thrown his life away up to that point and has one oppurtunity to get it back... By re-going from kindergarten to high school! Rushmore's a little more submliminally coming of age, but it's still there. Another classic. The Graduate.

Others: American Pie 1, Bronx Tale (well he does grow up, but its not typical), and the last episode of the wonder years.

March 24, 200422 yr Author Scarface isn't a coming of age movie, but I like it though. Still is doesn't fit into the catagory as a coming of age movie.

And I still didn't make it all the way through in one sitting. As far as gangster movies go I'd much rather watch Goodfellas or the Untouchables or Donny Brasco. I'm just not the scarface type, I guess.

Most rappers aren't Latino and yet every cribs some rapper has some tribute to Scarface someplace in his house (either the movies playing 24/7 or the security set-up).

I'm just not the scarface type, I guess. Well, I agree. The best mob movie is the Godfather, hands down. But I mean, KJC pretty much hit it right on the head. Even though it doesn't give us the best of images (neither does Godfather 2 for that matter, but I like it nonetheless), the main character is Cuban! Tony Montana is a badass and he is Cuban. That is beyond awesome. Maybe the rappers like it because he has a big gun, alot of drugs, or a combination of the two. But I know it's awesome because the main character is a Cuban badass.
