minus
I just finish watching a bias presidential election update on Fox news.Who is in charge of their reports ? Bush himself? Talk about being slanted.
Rune
It's Fox News, If you say anything about their boy on Hannity and that other guy you get... "You traitor, you should be ashamed of yourself for questioning are great president"
SorianoFanHFW
what I can't stand with conservatives is when they say, "hey, he's the president of the united states, have some respect. This goes for every president, even Clinton." Then 5 minutes later they blame Clinton for 9-11.
SorianoFanHFW
Okay, if I double post, I'm sorry. I hate it when conservatives say, "Hey, that's the president of the united states, have some respect, I would have respect for Clinton too" as an excuse not to criticize Bush. Then 5 minutes later they blame Clinton for 9-11.
Fish Fillet
Agreed on the whole Fox News thing. As a Republican even I can't watch it. It's just too blatent. But it does exactly what it is designed to do, pull ignorant and uneducated into the fold by feigning legitimacy as a news network. And decry it all you want, but it's working. That's why Gore and the Libs are starting up their liberal news network later this year...So they can also influence the ignorant and uneducated by feigning legitimacy as a news network. Um, CNN?
Fish Fillet
NO, not CNN. They've rounded up a bunch of cash in liberal donations and are purchasing an existing network. Then they plan to program it as a news channel with a liberal slant, a'la the antithesis of Fox News. So, in case you get bored you'll now be able to flip on the idiot box and watch 24 hour coverage of politicians handling out welfare checks, hugging trees, screwing interns and marrying gays. Bonus! nc marlin
Most of the media is to the left though. Fox News is one of the few right-slanting outlets. Just about every paper in the country gives you a liberal slant.
SorianoFanHFW
the media is socially liberal, economically liberal, but pro war.
Shamrock
I wonder which propaganda machine is in the lead or if they are close to even. If you factor in Limbaugh and other right-wing radio I'd say its about even....If Air America radio launches and remains successful it could shift the balance a little. Frankly, Im starting to get extremely annoyed with partisan news. Cant someone just give me the facts and allow me to make interpretations? SorianoFanHFW
try spinsanity.org anyway, the media definitely is socially and economically liberal. When did you ever see the media take strong stances against homosexuality? How about their stance against religion? How about their stance against nafta and for social spending and bureaucracy? Craig
There is no such thing as a bi-partisian station and there will never been a bi-partisian media in politics. Fox News is right wing, CNN is left wing. That's how it is, and that's how it always will be. I personally think the media is slightly slanted to the left, but it's not a big deal, because there are plenty of right wingers in the media. The media is a bunch of dopes anyways, so I don't even pay attention. All I want is to be able to see the perspective of both sides of the arguments, and be able to decide my opinions for myself. Now colleges are another story. Major public universities are now so liberal it's ridiculous. But that's a whole different argument..... Hotcorner
Sure FoxNews is biased, but at least everyone knows it. It's not as if they're trying to fool anyone. As someone else just said, it's just like the liberal station that will hit the radio soon. The fact that FoxNews puts Geraldo Rivera on the air is even more of a joke. That damages their credibility more than anyone like O'Reilly could. CNN sucks too. I have great disdain for the "screamers" in the media. The people who try to yell over one another in debates, to posture & pose like they're playing a pickup game of basketball. That includes the pompous blowhards that have shows named after them. I mean how can someone actually sit there & peddle their own book on what is supposed to be an objective news program? Chris Matthews, Bill O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, whoever. and the fact that the media questions & investigates the goverment, big business, etc, may make them "liberal" if you want to call it that, but what do you want your news to do? If you just want a spokesman for the government/big business/special interest/politician/whatever, I'm quite sure most of these have their own PR people. News organizations have a responsibility to investigate and question what they're reporting. Not to blindly believe & report on whatever they're told. If that's being "liberal" then so be it. The alternative is to be a lapdog. The fact that most of these organizations are now owned by giant media conglamerates doesn't sit well with me either, but that's for another thread. SorianoFanHFW
Colmes is the coolest guy ever. He is classy when he debates you and if you are an ignorant loud mouth and intelligent person can see how colmes handles himself in a matter intelligent people can aprpeciate. Some people call this "being a pushover", but in reliaty, he's a semi moderate liberal that is a good debater that doesn't resort to stupid comebacks and screaming over someone else. Colmes rules.
