May 4, 200422 yr Look at the facts. 1. We did better on this road trip than we did last year when we won the title. If I am not mistaken this might have been the best we have ever done at SF-Col. 2. We are still in first place. Other teams in our division have as many if not more question marks than we do. 3. We play our next 6 games at home. After philly plays st.louis this week they are at Arizona, at SF and at Col. 4. Its May 3rd, there are still 5 months to go.

And by some, I mean alot. and why shouldnt I or Das or ANYONE cause a huge commotion over Oliver? He is the worst pitcher in the MAJORS. Get your head out of your ass and open your freakin eyes Anyone in anyone's minor league system would be better than him. It's the cold heart truth

May 4, 200422 yr Since when is there a rule about having a certain amount of innings in the minors to have any success in the show?
May 4, 200422 yr Since when is there a rule about having a certain amount of innings in the minors to have any success in the show? Ramp, since when is there a rule that minor league scrubs should be called up whenever a big leaguer isn't doing as well without much work done in the season?
May 4, 200422 yr Trevor Hutchinson is a scrub? now i could say Mike Tejera is one, but he has never been as bad as Oliver. Same goes for Ben Howard or anyone else down in Burque or Carolina no one we bring up will be as bad as Oliver. I dont get why Oliver is still in the 5 spot. Boggles the mind

Boggles the mind why waste an option on calling one of the scrubs up and then sending him bakc down once you get another pitcher via signing or trade? They are developing, we are not in a rush, so why rush them? I could see a month or two from now, but not now.
May 4, 200422 yr Why trade for someone when you will be fixing something at a cost when you could do it fine and well for a simple plane ticket from Isotope land to the bigs?

Boggles the mind Not everyone will be Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera Im not asking for them to be either. But they would put up respectable numbers or AT WORST be just as bad as Oliver and who knows, maybe you catch lightning in a bottle ala Willis last year(I know Hutchinson is nothing like Willis but you never know..... Bo Hart got the Cards going for a few months last year)

But I suppose we are all a bit disappointed. After winning the Colorado series and the first game with SF....it looked like we would have a winning road trip....which would have been remarkable. We blew late inning leads in all the games....and that is what is the most disappointing. If we had been blown out....then it would have been easier to just chalk it up to experience and let it go. A couple of wins at home, and all will be forgotten. :thumbup

May 4, 200422 yr These don't panic threads piss me off even more than the other threads. Most people aren't panicing they are just merely pointing out some deficiencies of the team and discussing possible solutions to these problems. I see nothing wrong with that.

May 4, 200422 yr I couldnt agree more I cant even imagine what it was like on this board last year before Mckeon got hired there were probely people here ready to sell all of their Marlins gear. We have been in 1st place in the division more days this year than in our entire history and besides Oliver our pitching has only had a few bad starts, also we have been hitting the ball well and have some offensive leaders. Anyway there is a ton of baseball to play and everybody needs to calm down.

Exactly... :thumbup In agreement. What are we supposed to do? Post? - the sky is blue - Oliver at least didn't lost the game - Oliver lasted 4 inning, while Dontrelle lasted 1.5 - AGON at least didn't SO looking at the last AB - Cordero at least made the effort, and the GS was a fluke Give me a fricking break!
