May 5, 200422 yr no one ripped him. He simply said he guessed right on the 1st pitch. That's part of baseball, and he got on base. Kudos to him! But, because Gonzo got out against Gagne doesn't mean his 3 for 5 day with 2 doubles was not a good sign! I mean, there's being a pessimist. And then there's being beyond negative to stir up arguments for the sake of arguing. That is, by definition, a troll. Pierre is the better hitter. We know that. There is not a single person on this board who will say Gonzalez is a better hitter than Pierre. Not one. Did Gonzalez have a good game yesterday? YES. Did Pierre get a hit off Gagne? YES. Are the related? NO.

May 5, 200422 yr Author Look, the whole point to this thread from the start was that in a night where there were many areas to complain about, one bright spot was the struggling Gonzalez finally put together a good string of hits. It's as simple as that. Let's hope this is the start of a comeback for Gonzalez to get that BA closer to .250 where it belongs.

I didn't see Pierre stand in there and take a fastball that was veering to the outside part of the plate and RIP it to center field for as clean a single as you will ever see. Besides Mike Lowell is 1-8 against Gagne with 5Ks. Does that mean he sucks like Agon?

JP "guessed right" wow, what an admission. Gagne threw Gonzo a fastball, away, just like he did Pierre. yet, someone Gonzo can't catch up to it. Maybe Gonzo "guessed right" but he simply lacks the talent to put the bat on the ball. Quit diminishing what Pierre does. When Gonzo hits like Pierre, then compare him. NEVER until then.
