Hitting the Ball with Bases Loaded...

Featured Replies

I have no clue what are season stats are but I know that we are not very succesful at hitting the ball with ducks on the pond. Castillo got lucky on Saturday that he didn't run into a Double Play, and we luckily got an RBI. Why can't we hit the ball with bases loaded? Opinions?

when you think about, it seems like ur team does bad in these situations if u remeber that your team only gets a hit, sya 4 out of every ten times the bases are juiced, but that's actually very good, it just seems like we're not that good, cuz when we don't get it, it's that much more memorable.

idk know the stats or anything, tho, maybe i'm wrong

This has been something the team has been working on. They just want to put the ball in play and get the run instead of losing valuable runners.

It just seems bad because there are a few like Conine 0/4 and Castro 0/3 that we remember.

But on the other side Redmond is 2/2 with 6 RBIs.

I think that some of are hitters choke when bases are loaded and always go for homeruns expect castillo they never try getting a singles.

WTF? no objections from me

He's right. A lot of them (Castro, Nunez, Choi, Alex) are just going up hacking and can't make the simple base hit or sac fly we need.

They will learn that they can't do that...Not a bad average at all. I wish could just get that one grand slam so we can say it hasnt been two years since the last

The Marlins are among the worst in the league with the bases loaded thus far. Considering that it is May 11 and the team only has 27PAs with the bases loaded, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Only Lowell and Pierre are good with bases loaded. I know that they are a combined 2-2 in their last plate appearences with bases loaded. Both singles.

Redmond is also 2 for 2. He is leading the team.

When was the last time the Marlins hit a grand Slam? I know that we were the only team not to hit one last year and I know we havn't hit one this year.. IT seems like forever since the last time I saw a Marlin hit a Grand Slam. That is to say I can't remember us EVER hitting one.

BTW: just cause I can't remember us EVER hitting one does not mean that I think we have enver hit one, but rather that I just don't remember.

Derrek Lee, third game, 2002.

Two days after our second to last grand slam, Preston Wilson, Opening Day, 2002.

Both in Olympic Stadium.

Speaking of Grand Slams, I'll never forget the pinch hit grand slam John Mabry hit in the bottom of the 8th I think in 2001. Won us the game.

Cool stuff.

I have something to say to the "We will never be clutch without D. Lee" phrase.

Derrek is not the clutchest (is this a word?) guy you will ever see, but when he played the Reds, with bases loaded he hit the ball, dont remember If it was a HR or not. Derrek gets the job done, something Choi is NOT doing right now.

Dude.

When has Choi hit with the bases loaded?

Lee would have K'd a million times against Clemens too. When has Choi been doing that badly? Damn.

Derrek must have been really good if you can name 1 time he came thru

I'm telling you, people here raise the bar so high.

We are supposed to have Pujols, Bonds type players on a 50 million dollar payroll team :banghead

Right now he is doing badly. All he has is his HRs and singles and one triple. Choi is not hitting the ball well right now, and If he doesn't hit a HR or a single, it is likely he won't hit. I like Choi, but his defense is no where near Lee's and his offense is in a slump right now, he is King alot.
