Marlins rumors

Featured Replies

The Marlins are getting good reports on Chad Fox's elbow. But they continue to hunt for set-up help. Teams that have spoken with them say they've inquired about Milwaukee's Luis Vizcaino, Kansas City Mike MacDougall and Cincinnati's John Riedling. But none of those clubs is in selling mode yet.

One front-office man said he'd heard rumblings of a three-way deal among the Marlins, Reds and Yankees in which Jose Contreras would have been the centerpiece. But there doesn't appear to be any substance to that one.

MacDougal would be nice

Omaha or not he would still be a nice pickup

Especially if they threw in that Beltran guy

*Drools at the thought of Beltran* All this team is missing is one bat in the middle of the order and another arm or two in the pen. If we fulfill these needs we should be back in the playoffs.

*Drools at the thought of Beltran* no offense, but don't waste your drool

Vizcaino is a power arm, any of them would be nice.

no chance in hell Beltran is wearing teal...

MacDougal has gotten off to a bad start but he was pretty good last year as a rookie. Young and with potential. Sounds like a Marlins already.

IMO, the last thing the Fish need is more young guys with potential.

I'll take a guy who knows how to pitch as opposed to someone learning to pitch anytime. We got where we did last year with three veterans in the pen, Urbina, Fox and Helling.

We need to do the same thing this year.

I would feel awful trading for one of those guys knowing that we could have had them for nothing during the Free Agency Period. We would have to trade quality pieces of our farm system just because of a mistake on our part during the free Agency Period.

I think a veteran arm is what we need in the pen. I dont know if there is room for another pitcher with "potential",
