Last night the Cards defeated the Astros on a walk off balk, crazy game. Octavio Dotel was called for a balk with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the 10th inning last night and Ray Lankford came in to score the game winning run on a walk off balk.

I saw the call and it really was not that big of a deal and shouldn't have been called a balk especially with the game on the line like that. The umpires defeated the Astros, not the Cards.

Actually, it wasn't a walk off balk since it happened in the top of the 10th, but yeah the way the Cardinals won that game was just ridiculous.

Dotel was beyond angry after that game, said it was "the worst call he'd ever seen".

There were some great endings to games last night...

And the best one was when Luiy caught a flyout to record save #19 for Armando

Nah, I would have to say Paul Konerko's walk off "single" for a 4-3 White Sox Winner against the Angels was the best ending.

From an unbiased standpoint, Rob Mackowiak's walk off grand slam was the best ending last night :) .

i'm waiting to see when williams grows some balls and puts lidge in the closer role.

Hasn't Lidge been struggling lately too?

He did not look good at all in the Cincinnati series, and I believe he has an 0-3 record now.

lidge > dotel.

that is all.

So Lidge has been struggling lately then.....

I think Lidge is more of a "closer" type while Dotel is automatic in a set-up role...

I would have to agree with that.

Actually, I think Lidge should be the closer and Dotel the set up man, but i'm just giving Mr. Texan a hard time.
