He was bunting for a base hit. I see nothing wrong with it. The surprise factor must be taken into account too.

I think Jack told him to do it. Nunez wouldn't have done that by himself. Good game by Abe, RBI and nice defense.

I liked the surprise factor in doing it, he showed nice hustle down the line slideing into 1st and they barely got him.

Nunez bunted it right up the 3B line. Choi couldn't run home as he would have easily been tagged out.

 

Now I could see if he had bunted up the 1B line, or towards the SS, or 2nd baseman, but the way he executed it gave no chance for Choi to score, and at best would have left bases loaded with two outs for the pitcher.

 

How anyone can think that gives us a better chance to score than swinging away is beyond me.
