Lenny Harris

Featured Replies

Someone care to tell me why the fish are in love with this guy? I mean couldn't we give Sutton a chance instead of Harris? Why all the Love (and this all time pinch hitter thing is nothing more than a fact that has nothing to do with his current performance) ?

There is a clause in Lenny's contract which stipulated there was something like a 45 day "trial" period beginning on opening day in which the Marlins had the opportunity to send him down to the minors, after the 45 day period was expired he could not be sent down to the minors under any circumstance. I'm glad he wasn't sent down, the guy is retiring after this season, let him finish his career in a major league uniform.

yea but let him finish it as a coach or something cause he is taking up a spot that should be left for someone that is going to acually help the team...sorry lenny but your Done...

i also think it's worth noting that this is a team that thrived on chemistry last year, and Lenny is a big-time clubhouse guy that everyone loves and keeps everyone loose. i think that's worth having on the team, but he should not be starting at DH.

Yeah if you remmeber a while back in the ESPN the mag he said Lenny was the most liked player in the locker room. As far as chemistry go he is what helps this team be so close. Seeing him go could really hurt that, I'd rather let Nunez go than him

I think McKeon is throwing Lenny out along with Easley WAY TOO MUCH. They both want to be bench veterans ala Mordi and he is starting them too much.

ah maybe lenny will realize he is hurting the team and fake a hamstring pull or something and put himself on the 60 day DL list :banghead

I dunno but he's allowed to stay on the bench even if he's on the DL right? That would be cool :notworthy

You tell me who on that bench is better. Nobody.

so true we know nobody on our bench is better but there are alot of guys in AAA that i rather see than Lenny Harris...

You tell me who on that bench is better. Nobody.

As a fielder? All of them.

As an all-around player? All of them.

As a hitter? Most of them.

Lenny's the Jesse Orosco of batters. A .260 career hitter with no pop and no patience. He's only in the majors solely because NL teams use a lefthanded pinch-hitter.

and right now lenny is the 2nd worst hitter on the bench, ahead of only mordy, who is much more useful to us defensively and with pinch running.

lenny has been hitting horrendously all year. he's the most overrated bench player we have (since everyone knows nunez sucks now)--on this message board anyway.

he couldnt buy a hit with RISP prior to that one game where he got one hit in RISP and apparently turned into the savior. since then he has continued to be awful with RISP.

his batting average is .212.

.185 (5-27) with runners on.

.105 (2-19) with runners in scoring position.

right now i'd easily have abe's bat off the bench over lenny's.

Yep, as much as I dislike the old guy Nunez deserves another chance because there's no one else.

Easley is tapped. Hasn't hit all this month.

BELIEVE IN LENNY!

i always have and always will....all you guys bashing him, i wanna see you do better.

:cheers

are you all forgetting the little stretched we make lenny the starting left fielder and he kicked ass?

this guy never has a bad at bat. he's patient, goes to the plate with a plan and always gives the opposing pitcher a good battle. there's nobody in the bench i would trust more than lenny.
