Allison appears to be lost

Featured Replies

Among them: a failure to produce an adequate result on a mental or physical examination, including dental, that could prohibit that player from reaching the major leagues.

Allison's mistakes have already cost the 16th overall pick last summer at least $200,000 of his $1.85 million bonus, he says. The Marlins, with Allison's approval, restructured his payment schedule after he admitted the painkiller dependency, and the subsequent positive test for marijuana proved costly.

Allison, back home in Peabody, Mass., will not receive any further payment until he comes off the restricted list, where the 19-year-old landed May 6.

"He's still hanging out with all the wrong people, street thugs," says a baseball official familiar with Allison's whereabouts. "This kid has got big, big-time issues. People [in Massachusetts] are saying this is a longstanding problem that was never addressed. Because he was a good athlete, everybody camouflaged that stuff. They kowtowed to him and protected him. Nobody in baseball had that information. Nobody."

Dont kid yourself those paintball guns can sting...

Goodbye, Allison. Allison in Wonderland...screw 'em. The Marlins are one of the few teams that can afford to lose out on a talent like that. We got enough assets to make up for that loss.

We need to cut our losses and move on. Nobody wants to be a fan of and root for a drug addict street thug like this kid, not only that but he will probably be a cancer to the clubhouse and destroy the chemistry we have, if he ever is actually called up.

GET HIM OUT OF HERE!
