Posted July 4, 200420 yr Let's start from the top Juanpy- You aren't running. Your leads are horrendous. You've stolen 18 bases but in 30 attempts. You are hitting the ball in the air, instead of lining it. You aren't bunting at all. You aren't trying to take the extra base. You are trigger shy. But you have heart, I'll give you that. You are one of three players that are still trying. Luiy- Where the hell are you? You aren't trying. You are barely on base. You are taking too many pitches. You aren't running. And now you've decided to stop playing defense properly. Do you care anymore? Does anything that is happening in the game mean anything to you at this point? Or do you sit before every pitch because you want to get back to the dugout so bad? Miguel- Everyone else might give you love because you are 21. I will not. You look like a piece of crap in right field. I can understand it being a new position, but can you run plays out? Please? And how about you being sexually attracted to 0-2 counts. How about you cut that s*** out right now. What happened to the Miguel Cabrera that hit with RISP? He's hitting .229 now, while striking out 24 times in those situations (out of 96 chances). Your 82 K's are 21 more than anyone else on the team. How about you hit the cages? Mikey- Thanks for at least showing up everyday. You are hitting over .300. Hitting .295 with RISP. Solid OBP, solid SLG. You are showing heart in the field. You give us hope when few others seem to want to do the same. For this I thank you. Niner- How about you WAKE THE f*** UP. Being Mr. Marlin will not carry you through the entire season while you bat at a deceiving .267 clip. That .177 with RISP is fascinating. And you are still batting 5th? Fun stuff. You aren't trying for balls in the field. You look completely disassociated with what is happening. You throw your bat in aggression and defiance but you aren't deceiving anyone. Please, either shape up, or be enough of a professional to stop hurting the team. Choizzle- One of the lone bright spots on a team that has been so gloomy. I see a first full year player still learning the game. It'll lead to bumps in the road. But no one can say you played with less passion than your predecessor. You dive for balls when most others seem unwilling. You have patience when everyone elses' definition is to take two strikes and then swing away. You've earned the fans chanting your name. But you are horribly misused. You get on base at a .402 clip, your average is getting close to .300, you shoot tower high homers and you hit .353 in close and late situations. But alas, you aren't allowed to play everyday and you are in the wrong spot of the lineup. Thanks for trying when you get the chance though, if you can only get your friend to do the same. Sea Bass- Where is the Alex of before I left to San Fran? The one that could be counted on in tough situations? The one that was abusing the Monster? The one that could play defense? You still manage to hit .280 with RISP, but your defense isn't there anymore. You are swinging at crap pitches again. YOU ARE NOT VLAD THE IMPALER. Please stop now. And you aren't there to be an offensive force, can you at least continue to be the gold glove shortstop you are supposed to be? Stop letting the O get to your head, or you will have absolutely no use at the major league level. Big Red- I like you man. I do. You hit well with runners on. You call a good game. But you can't throw runners out. And I mean, if it was close everytime, then it's ok. But it isn't. You are batting .162 against lefties. Who are you and what have you done with Mike Redmond? Where is the passion for the game you always showed? Where is the fooling around and being the ultimate team guy? Has starting regularly gone to your head that much? Lenny- I know it's your last year. You've done alot for us. And I don't really blame you for everything, because you are honestly struggling but you continue to be sent out there. But please man, hit the cages. Take some extra BP. Seek help. Do something. It hurts to see you struggle so bad. But at least you run out the ground balls, and you run hard to second and third when you get the chance. More than I can say for some other people. Easley- Hey, My name is Damian Easley, and I can only hit one game. Your numbers are deceiving. You'll show up one game, and then suck for three more. All the while, however, you maintain a .247 average. Which blows, mind you, but compared to some of these other smucks it's Pujols-like. Oh, and are you aware you have a glove on your left hand? You are Wil Cordero but shorter. Abe- Hey, guess what! You blow dick! Where's the ten homer power we saw in ST? What happened, they started testing you? Mordy- Eh, I didn't expect much from you in the beginning. Can't really say you are doing that bad compared to the others. Just read Lenny's description for everything you want to know you are doing wrong. Treanor- You aren't really getting playing time, and when you do you get one base at least once every game. Isn't the easiest thing in the world to hit when you don't play but once a week, but you try. I have to give you that. I've seen you dive into the visiting dugout to try and prevent a run. You also have a cannon. If you were a tad more accurate it would be great. Work on it, maybe Jack will let you play more. The pitching can be dealt with later.
July 4, 200420 yr This is getting annoying. Yes, we're struggling, we know. No need to pick up apart everyone and dis like them like a) they're reading this and b) if they were, they think your opinion counts.
July 4, 200420 yr :notworthy YES!!! Juanky sees it as it is. This team right now is not showing up. That may change, but right now they are showing up expecting to fall behind early and expecting to lose. Too many people think love for the team means to turn a blind eye to what's not working. A true fan thinks team first and individuals second. This idea that Willis is glued to a starting spot proves it. These kind of fans don't want to think how Willis could enhance our pen...they worry about wearing the jersey of a setup man. Juanky....Nice Job!
July 4, 200420 yr Nice post Juanky. I like the points you made. I would like to see Treanor get a few more starts though he does have a cannon.

No need to pick up apart everyone and dis like them like a) they're reading this and b) if they were, they think your opinion counts. 439225 well we deserve to be pissed. were all diehard marlins fans and of course, we're gonna be mad when they suck, it's only natural. we're all frustrated and it's a message board so why not give your opinion? and nice post Juankster 439274 I realize people get frustrated and I don't mean to single out Juanky, but damn...people keep repeatin the same s*** over and over again. Anyone who watches the games sees what's going on. Identifying faults are a lot easier than fixing them.
July 4, 200420 yr Being as I'm a fan on a message board and not a coach, all I have is my ability to voice my opinion. I'm fully aware as far as we are concerned no one reads this. And if they do, who are they to listen to me. However, look through it and tell me one of the things is wrong. I'm just telling it how I see it. I haven't read the other threads, I don't really care to.
July 4, 200420 yr Nice Post. You forgot to include Castro in there. 439237 He needs to keep it PG. Good job Juanky.
July 4, 200420 yr Great post, just a few things that I disagree with. Miguel is trying, but he's young, and I agree: he needs to hit the cages or SOMETHING to actually MAKE contact and not K so much. Conine, wow, he's endless in this situation, but I've seen him actually try, though, and he is trying for balls in the field, he threw out someone last night (Friday's game). Choi is doing great, no doubt (bunt, why..oh why..) Luis & JP need to do something, and Luis needs to stop getting in the hole 0-2 so fast by taking the pitches so much. JP needs to work on his stealing technique or something, he gets caught too much.. Gonzalez - - - was a disgusting offensively. He can't hit the ball at times it seems, and he's in another slump, down to a .240 ish average, cmon Gonzo hit that ball when it counts!! I like Redmond, he's a good catcher, makes contact, but lacks the arm as you said, and that's what hurts us. No need to comment on Harris, Easley, or Nunez. Mordy atleast tries when he's out there, and I liked how he's played, one of our better bench players, sadly. Treanor needs more time on the field, with accuracy he's great, quite agreed. But I think Conine and Cabrera deserve more credit than you gave them, not MUCH more, just a little bit =] Oh, and while we're doing benchers that come in, Willis - keep it up & tell McKeon to give you more ABs as a PH, hell, it can't hurt much.
July 4, 200420 yr Jeff Conine has become the Marlins' Paul O'Neill. A hitter that gets hits when they dont matter, therefore making his average seem decent, but getting absolutely nothing done with RISP, and then throwing the bat and getting mad on swinging strikes and pop ups. Jeff: get mad if a bad call by an umpire makes you get out, but if its your fault, act like a professional. Someone take the Mr. Marlin tag off this guy. If i had kids, I would want them to see "Mr Marlin" as someone who practices good sportsmanship.
