JMLinkinPark
This Opens up a spot for Lowell or Cabrera possibly in the HR Derby.. If he decides to pull out because of the injury Its also Sad to Hear... Get Better Griff..
QuickGold
Regarding HR Derby, how much/little does hamstring affect just taking swings?
JMLinkinPark
Im not sure. But just throwin that out there..
Marlins2k3Champs
It would affect how he steps to hit the ball. But that sucks. The outfield will not be as planned for the NL All Star team with Sosa, Bonds, and Griffey.
CapeFish
Looks JP may be going to Houston after all.

Pierre did not even deserve to be on the final vote with how he has underachieved this year. Finley would be a much better choice.
dunn44
He is day-to-day and will most likely miss the all-star game. Dunn better take his spot in the AS game and HR Derby! GET WELL SOON JR!!!!
CardsJimEdmonds15
All biasedness aside I'd take Edmonds (.283, 20 hr, 55 rbi) over Finley (.291, 21 hr, 45 rbi). We wanna win this game dont we? Wont happen though despite him playing all out all the sudden.. I could actually see JP making it or even Drew (Glad he's doin good in ATL) Came up with each players stats that I thought of (CF that is) Jim Edmonds: Games: 81 AVG: .283 H/AB: 78/286 Runs: 51 2B: 23 3B: 0 HR: 20 RBI: 55 BB: 48 SO: 82 SB: 2 CS: 2 OBP: .388 SLG: .583 Steve Finley: Games: 86 AVG: .291 H/AB: 98/337 Runs: 56 2B: 14 3B: 1 HR: 21 RBI: 45 BB: 35 SO: 44 SB: 7 CS: 3 OBP: .353 SLG: .525 Juan Pierre: Games: 86 AVG: .295 H/AB: 106/359 Runs: 45 2B: 11 3B: 6 HR: 2 RBI: 27 BB: 30 SO: 22 SB: 20 CS: 14 OBP: .356 SLG: .376 Marquis Grissom: Games: 77 AVG: .283 H/AB: 90/318 Runs: 49 2B: 17 3B: 2 HR: 13 RBI: 50 BB: 20 SO: 44 SB: 3 CS: 1 OBP: .326 SLG: .472 :confused

CardsJimEdmonds15
how much first did edmonds play this year? 452393[/snapback] Umm this can be a trick question :lol Edmonds played 1 Game at 1B Edmonds has played 82 Games outta 86 Which one were you asking? lol
dunn44
Ok I am not trying to be a homer, but why are none of you metioning Adam Dunn, he is hitting like .263 and 25 homers. He deserves it more than Edmonds because he has more HR and RBI, JP IS NOT HITTING .300 for guy that needs to be on base. I think that it should be Dunn or maybe Drew. I know Drew can play in Center but geez.. Griffey tears hamstring, out of All-Star game MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Ken Griffey Jr. has a partial tear of his right hamstring and will miss Tuesday's All-Star game. The Cincinnati outfielder was injured Saturday night while trying to run down Brady Clark's fourth-inning drive to right-center in the fourth inning of a 5-0 loss to Milwaukee. An MRI exam Sunday revealed the tear. Griffey plans to go to Houston to participate in ceremonies, but will not take part in the Home Run Derby or the game, Reds spokesman Rob Butcher said. He will be replaced on the NL roster. Griffey was voted an All-Star starter for the 12th time last weekend. He missed more than a month with a torn hamstring that bothered him throughout the 2001 season. He spent two long stints on the 15-day disabled list with a torn patella tendon and a torn right hamstring in 2002, then went to the DL twice again last year for a dislocated right shoulder and torn ankle tendon. All four active players with 500 homers had been scheduled to compete in Monday's Home Run Derby: Barry Bonds (681), Sammy Sosa (553), Rafael Palmeiro (540) and Griffey (501). (Let the debating begin of replacement)
dunn44
Jim Ed the whole LF CF RF thing does not matter. Look at the AL starting OF there is no Cfielder. They will go by which outfielder has the best or by who Jack seems would be the best choice. I think that the huy that replaces Griff will be in the HR derby to. That's why I doubt it's Pierre. I guess Edmonds could go but he has had injuries so he might not want to go and you as a Cards fan no how much Drew gets hurt. Once again the choice is Dunn! Libelula
I don't see it anywhere posted in this topic so I'll post it... Ken Griffey has been placed on the Disabled List... Karma. No one glares into the Marlins dugout, biatch.
