July 15, 200422 yr first of all, its divisions not leagues second, i think its between the NL Central and AL West, becuase both are going to be ultra competitive going into september
July 15, 200422 yr Even though the Astros are now in 5th place in the NL Central I still think that division is still the toughest one. Followed by the AL West the way the teams are playing in that division. And then maybe the NL East because all teams except the Expos are pretty much still in the race to be a division leader heading into September.
July 15, 200422 yr Being in the race doesnt mean the division is the best. That could just mean mediocrity.
July 15, 200422 yr NL central is fun great teams all around ... bucs are fun to watch and have some players that are having nice little years ... Mackowiak, goldie locks and Oliver Perez has been nasty same with the brew crew ... all hustle all around.... and the Cardinals have given the central a big kick in the ass :thumbup cubbies and stros oh one last thing GRIFFEY IS BACK ! now I can only pray that nothing is really wrong with him ... I hope GO REDS !!!
July 15, 200422 yr AL East is the best what you should do is find out the record of every division in games played outside of the division
July 15, 200422 yr okay so In games against non division opponents the records for the division are as follows: AL EAST : +10 Central: -15 West : +5 NL East: -14 Central: +30!!! West: -17 This shows the NL central as the best division in baseball. I also looked at interleague scores and after getting creamed at first..the NL as come back. The AL leads interleage play with only a 126-125 record over the NL. Also.. If you look at the NL central, they are 10 games over 500 against AL teams............ If you look at the AL EAST (statisticlly the best division in the AL) they are only 4 games over 500 against the NL teams All these things point to the NL Central being the strongest in baseball, which surprises me actually. Also, not good to see the NL EAST in the lower half.... Props to the NL Central
July 15, 200422 yr Thanks for the numbers, never seen that before. If all the teams were put into a torunament or soemthing, I believe that the AL EAst would end up with the best record. Thats how I think of what the best division is.
July 15, 200422 yr It depends what you mean by "best". Best teams in the division? AL East or NL Central. Best division in terms of "watchability"? AL East.
July 16, 200422 yr AL Central :plain 459673 Yuck. Talk about the teams with no charachter. No stars. Ugly.
July 16, 200422 yr In games against non division opponents the records for the division are as follows: AL EAST : +10 Central: -15 West : +5 NL East: -14 Central: +30!!! West: -17 459583 wowsa. that settles that. thanks :thumbup
July 16, 200422 yr NL central, since pirates are the only sub .500 team. Next year it will be the AL East.
