July 17, 200422 yr every pitcher who pitches against us looks like a combo between Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, and Randy Johnson. every Marlin (even guys with traditionally good eyes, like JP) is swinging at the worst pitches, pitches that aren't even CLOSE to being strikes. not only are we getting out, we're striking out on 3 pitches or popping up the first pitch. it's like when i play the computer in MVP Baseball 2004 on All-Star level....it's like the whole team has lost it at once. we're making chumps like Kris Benson and Kip Wells look like aces. i swear, i can barely watch this anymore.
July 17, 200422 yr Its not like we scored runs last year either. 462129 But the marlins had clutch hits last year.
July 17, 200422 yr Its not like we scored runs last year either. 462129 that's true, and we're on pace to score roughly 50 fewer runs this year than last year... :confused
July 18, 200422 yr Its not like we scored runs last year either. 462129 But the marlins had clutch hits last year. 462166 That's the problem. That's partly because the lack of a running game. Remember how many of Pudge's opposite way grounders than find their way into the outfield and JP safe at home?
July 18, 200422 yr if Montreal's the only offense worse than ours, I think we get the prize. I mean at least Montreal's got an excuse. The offense is just fundamentally different from last season. They're slow. They don't hit. There are no big innings. They don't move runners over. They don't make the other team pay for mistakes. They wait for the two guys in the middle of the order to hit homers. etc, etc, etc....

JP's ability to steal was great last year. If he would take a decent lead from first, it would be just as good this year. But Crissy Carter has messed with his head. Also, Conine is best suited to hit in the 3 hole behind JP and Castillo - but that aint happening. When it does, the Marlins will start winning.
