July 18, 200422 yr I would like to see the Yanks trade for a pitcher, someone with a couple of years left.
July 18, 200422 yr You Yankee fans are so friggin spoiled it ain't funny. My lord you guys have no one in the system that would land any of those players.
July 18, 200422 yr You want another pitcher so you could win the division by say....20 games? Will you guys ever be content?
July 18, 200422 yr I would like to see the Yanks trade for a pitcher, someone with a couple of years left. 462958 Yeah, probably Ben Sheets or someone along those lines. They need some people on that staff. Oh, and what a great play by Giambi last night to rob Eric Munson. That was a key play in the game, because that would have tied the game at 4 at least.

July 18, 200422 yr Author It's not that I am spoiled and want somebody... I know Steinbrenner isnt just sitting on his couch watching the games. I know he wants somebody else and that's whats interesting... knowing that he is a few negotiations away from another player that obviously would be a plus. So I am just curious who he is considering because you can't really better the Yankees roster much anyways
July 18, 200422 yr Author You want another pitcher so you could win the division by say....20 games? Will you guys ever be content? 462980 so you are beginning to realize the Yankees are on top .... by 8 games right now
July 18, 200422 yr Steinbrenner considers the whole league as potential acquisitions. 462990 Word. He's definitely got a lot of options.
July 18, 200422 yr Author That's why its interesting as a Yankees fan, he can brew up a trade in a matter of days, and a new player will be playing by next week if he wanted.

July 18, 200422 yr Author It certainly is.... I heard during spring training that the Yankees were interested in Jose Vidro... yet Cairo is not bad at all for the Yankees and I don't think the Yankees lack offense. They do need a better bullpen, the players they signed in the offseason are not matching their projections.
July 18, 200422 yr I bet it really burst the Yankees fans bubbles though when they don't win the world series even with a payroll sometimes3X that of the competition. :plain

The great thing about being a fan is knowing that you're putting so much in to the team you fielded from the beginning of the season. You ride or die with that team and know you really have to go all in on one and only one trade. Not the anticipation of knowing that even if this one doesn't work out you have a next coming.
July 18, 200422 yr Author So saying that the Marlins traded away in the offseason... they're done in terms of dealing? If your team isn't producing the way it was made out to, you want to trade for a better player that is believed to help out the team. The Yankees traded for Arod, but that doesn't mean they are done for the season in trades... you can trade as many times as you want before the deadline, so if there is something that Steinbrenner desires, he can trade and get it. It would be great if the team you started out with at the beginning of the season finished as a whole, but by halfway, you realize it's lacking something, you want to go and get that.
July 18, 200422 yr You are running away with the East If you don't have the best record in the entire league anymore you're second (haven't checked) You need nothing Stop being a spoiled brat I can't wait until the Angels whipe the floor with the Yanks in the playoffs.
July 18, 200422 yr The yankees have made so many deals that traded "prospects" for all-stars, that they have no real desirable "prospects" left. They only have a catcher to trade, which might get them a reliever.
July 19, 200422 yr That's why its interesting as a Yankees fan, he can brew up a trade in a matter of days, and a new player will be playing by next week if he wanted. 463002 that's called being spoiled. can't wait 'til this team starts getting old and falling apart and the yankees look to the minors only to see a smoking pile of s***.
July 20, 200422 yr you people have no god damn respect. this guy is a fan of his team, don't friggin' hold it against him. I hope the yankees make no more trades, because mussina and brown being healthy are GIGANTIC additions. We will mop the floor with the competition come october, because I projected the yankees to be the best team and regardless of their record, they have underperformed. With a healthy brown and mussina, the league must be scared...especialyl with el duque in october.
July 20, 200422 yr Author Good job explaining man.... but all I had asked in the first place is who everybody thought the Yankees were going after.... this post could have been started by a non-yankee fan for all it matters... you guys think I am spoiled, I don't care if the Yankees get somebody else, but like everybody else who watches ESPN, knows that the Yankees are one of the active teams come deadline. So based on what has been said on ESPN, who, if anybody, do you think the Yankees will land?
