July 20, 200422 yr for those who follow college basketball religiously freshman of the year: gay player of the year: villanueva champions: uconn huskies :notworthy yes, they're that good, and they're that deep, will have a nice starting five once again next year, even without bg and okafor. outstanding sophomores to be, and another hot freshman, with a lights out backcourt, and of course, the best coach ever. U C O N N.
July 20, 200422 yr National Champions: Kansas Player Of The Year: Hakim Warrick, Syracuse Freshman Of The Year: Malik Hairston, Oregon UConn will be lucky to be top 10.
July 20, 200422 yr Author simeon needs to step up big time. i have one jayhawk friend, and all he's done for the past two seasons was yap about simeon and how great he is or is supposed to be. and i haven't seen him do that much or meet his 'hype'.

The team will be more comfortable with him in his second year. Watch out.
July 20, 200422 yr freshman of the year: gay 465951[/snapback] I know it's really immature, but that's just hilarious
July 20, 200422 yr Please don't mention Rudy Gay in front of me. Damn that Calhoun and that crooked AAU coach. Why can't college coaches just sell their program to athletes? Maryland was the second youngest team in Division I last year and made the round of 32. This year they'll challenge for the ACC title, and if Mike Jones learns defense, Fofana develops and we can get some good minutes from freshman reserve point guard Sterling Ledbetter they'll make the Final Four. Wake Forest is my #1 at the season's start, but due to bad luck they won't make a solid tournament run. Chris Paul is a beast.
July 20, 200422 yr sry i dont pay much attention to college bball outside of the big ten so, as much as i hate to say it, ill take Illinois to win the Big Dance btw, watch out for the back court of Jeff Horner, PIERRE PIERCE and Adam Haluska!

July 20, 200422 yr Author wake is early pre-season #1. though in all honesty, i'd put gtech at number one with their performance last year, and everyone coming back. osu up there too.. the final four teams are getting no respect this year come pre-season rankings. it's really disappointing. i can't wait to hear what bilas has to say.
July 20, 200422 yr Author the big east will dominate once again, 5 top 20 teams early on, 9 in the top 40. jeez. hopefully 7 seeds.

Or until you have a winning record against the ACC The Big East won't be back to full strength until they clear out the mess football put them in the nineties. G'town, Villanova and St. John's will need time to get back on track.
July 20, 200422 yr Author i dont care about ncaa football i'm talking basketball. and basketball we're #1. 04 champs - uconn 03 champs - syracuse
July 20, 200422 yr Uhh.. I was talking about basketball. The addition of football schools hurt the Big East in the 90s. To the point they had a few years when they only had 4 NCAA berths and had fallen well below the ACC, and efforts from the SEC and Big 12 to improve their programs. It's really quite amazing how public universities have basically taken over college sports in the nineties.
July 20, 200422 yr dontrelle, big ten had a down year last year but will be improved this upcoming year. anyway Ramp youre an Indiana fan right? Man, that Iowa-Indiana 2OT game was awesome.

He is gone.
July 20, 200422 yr UNC is the team to beat. the only reason they didnt play well last year was because sean may got hurt and they were inconsistent. now may is in shape and this team has more experience under their belts. unc's core (mccants, may, felton, j. williams) have been playing together for 2 years. throw in marvin williams (hs all-american) and theyre set. also now theres some good depth for roy williams, including defensive specialist jackie manuel and inside player david noel this is the tar heels year
