July 31, 200422 yr :lol When LoDuca actually hit in the 2nd half then call me. In 3 previous seasons he's never hit better or the same as he did the 1st half of the season. The only thing good I can say is that we acquired a top setup we really needed but was he worth Penny and Choi? Doubt it. And either way Carny still sucks. I'd rather have Willy who you know will get on-base at a good rate.

It doesn't matter what his numbers are right now, he's a slugger and just like with Seabass, his superior defense more than makes up for his lack of offense. Defense wins championships and if it worked last season it'll work this season. Beinfest should try and make this years club as close as possible to last years.

July 31, 200422 yr WHy does Juan have to play. Easley could very easily play instead of him. Encarnacion's defense is a little overrated. I remember several plays last year where he took god awful angles at the ball, and they were in key situations too. He more of a 'safe' fielder that will make the easy plays, but spectacular plays won't be made

His defense does not make up for his crappy bat.
