August 1, 200422 yr Pads are the Wildcard leader, Braves are the NL East Leader. If the Pads lose, we are 5.5 back of the wildcard, if they win we are 6.5 back.

August 1, 200422 yr Author actually 0 - 0 since the trade.....yesterday they didnt arrive till the 6th inning...and today got rained out...so still havent played a full game with any of the new players so... 0 - 0 post- trade 489143 Correct.

August 1, 200422 yr Author we're 0-2 since the trade, we're 0-0 with the new players in the line up. 489170 Well we were players short the entire time. Ben?tez also was unavailable.
August 1, 200422 yr 6 games back with 5 teams ahead of you for the wild card this late in the season means we're pretty much out of the running for the wild card. let's hope atlanta slips soon.
August 1, 200422 yr Atlanta is pretty much playing the same teams we are this month. the major differance is they go on a 7 game road trip to the west, while we go on a 12 game road trip. It's gonna be hard to catch those guys.
August 1, 200422 yr the last 21 games of the season the fish will control their own fate. if by that time we can start beating the teams we are supposed to beat , then 8 games against the Expos will help. 7 games agains the Phillies will help if our dominance over them continues. the 6 games against the Braves are gonna be the most important.
August 1, 200422 yr Author Game Over, Dodgers win. Marlins 5 back of the Wildcard, 6 back of the Division lead.
August 1, 200422 yr Well, i dont see the Pads taking that wildcard. The Cubs seem like the ones who are gonna take that. Heres the thing, how much would the Cubs hate us if we took the Wild Card?
August 1, 200422 yr I say we win the wild card, let the braves choke in october like usual, beat the yankees in the WS again, and call it a season.
August 1, 200422 yr Well, i dont see the Pads taking that wildcard. The Cubs seem like the ones who are gonna take that. Heres the thing, how much would the Cubs hate us if we took the Wild Card? 489227 not anymore then Phillies would if we took it from them again :lol unless they were to win the division :dont
August 1, 200422 yr Author What I am saying is we are still in both races, so that is why Beinfest made all these moves. Look at who we play the next coming weeks, then look at the wildcard standings.
August 1, 200422 yr we play a series with all the teams ahead of us (except the Astros) 2 series with the Cubs
August 1, 200422 yr Well, we face Arizona...They are the worst team in baseball. BUT, the thing is...MONTREAL AND PITTSBURG aren't exactly the St.Louis Cardinals, now are they? And we got swept by both teams.WE NEED TO. NEED TO sweep them, no matter what.
August 2, 200422 yr Author Everyone of these teams is a major league ballclubs. this damn Marlin club, like last year's, needs to focus on every game equally.

We've played like s*** against them...dammit...
