Bernie Williams: HOFer

Featured Replies

Hell NO.

every yankee fan thinks he is, but he's not that good.

let's compare him to jim edmonds (courtesy of my bro):

Williams: career OPS .882, 4 (undeserved?) GGs, 253 HRs, declining/declined

Edmonds: career OPS .913, 6 GGs, 291 HRs, still strong

There you go, but of course there are two arguments you can use:

Williams has more rings

Williams played for the Yankees while Edmonds played for the ANGELS and Cardinals

ADJUSTED OPS (ballparks are taken into account)

Bernie Williams 131 (decreasing)

Jim Edmonds 135 (increasing)

If Music Ability played into the decesion then he would be a shoe in. I always thought he was overrated somehow. If it wasn't for The 96 playoffs he wouldn't be as big.

Don't think he's worthy, but he is definitely pretty clutch when October rolls around.

He's not HOF worthy. He'll get his number retired, probably get a plaque in monument park, but he doesn't have HOF numbers. Great guy, but not Cooperstown bound

If Bernie Williams gets in the hall, then about a quarter of the players in baseball belong also. :thumbdown

Please, don't exaggerate! Have you noticed who has the most post-season RBI???

(it's either RBI or HR...lol)...He's not a HOFer, but give him props, dude!

he took that sacred title from david justice

"sacred title"... :D

It was RBI, right?

Thats why their stats are only based on your regular season.

O and that record of his is overrated because he has played a ton of games in the WS compared to others who just dont get the opportunity to play in it

One of the great October players of all time, but he has no business in the HOF.

giantsfan is right. also, people seem to like players who seem to do the "little things" like bernie. most of the time, the little things are mostly imagined, as in berie's case.

alomar, biggio, mcgriff, martinez...these guys deserve consideration. williams does not.
