Sheff probably deserves but you don't even consider Vlad if the Angels make the playoffs?

yea u consider vlad no doubt but if they both make it sheff gets it because if he keeps this pace he will have better numbers than vlad and played threw what would be a season ending shoulder injury.

1. Vlad single handedly carried his team's offense when half the Angel's starters were on the disabled list.

2. Sheff's involvement in the BALCO scandal won't help him.

3. The national media loathes Steinbrenner, he's the poster boy for everything that's wrong in baseball. By giving one of his prized acuisitions the MVP they're telling him that what he's doing is working and more or less supporting him.

No way SHeff gets the MVP. Ain't going to happen.

1.sheff has carried his FIRST PLACE TEAM in offense since the all star break, leads the AL in HR since the break and 2nd in RBI.

2.the balco garbage hasnt been mentioned in a long time and sheffs involvement is so miniscuel that its not even talked about so dont talk that s***. sheff has been consistent his whole career unlike bonds who has gone on a tear the last 5 years near the end of his career.

3.it doesnt matter who loathes who. they are gonna give it to the best player in the league and those media ppl u talk about are not the ones that vote for the mvp. eat crow and stop hating loser.

Hideki who? What that guy's name, Jeter? Oh yeah, and what about that over paid 3rd baseman? Matsui is having an insane year, and while Jeter and Pay-Rod aren't having their usual season they sure as s*** aren't having bad ones.

"Gary Sheffield never knowingly took steroids!" What a load of s***, when you're a professional athelete it's your job to make sure you stay as far away as possible from people who do. He's only Jason Giambi's teammate and a regular offseason training partner with Barry Bonds -- chances are he's juiced.

Yes, those media PEOPLE are the ones who vote on the awards, just like they vote on the Hall of Fame. Who do you think gives them out, the baseball fairy? And if you think they won't let their emotion get in they way you're stupid -- like they gave Matsui the AL Rookie of the Year -- and he actually deserved it.

Manny has a higher batting average, more home runs AND RBI's, higher OPB, more doubles, and more hits than Sheff. Thier fielding percentage is about the same. Also, Sheff is in a better lineup.

How is Sheff the MVP over Manny?

528729

because steinbrenner can buy sheffield the MVP award

I think that sheff is definatley the MVP, if you watch any Yankee game sheff has carried that O. A-rod hasn't hit crap with RISP I HATE the Yanks but shef IS the MVP.

532448

someone who actually finally watches the game and isnt a blinded fool. arod has his 30 HR big deal. less than 85 rbi and under 270 with RISP.jeter is not having a usual year hes hitting in the 270s and has less than 70 rbi and like 14 HR. the only production in the lineup other than sheff is matsui. sheffield leads the league in go ahead RBI meaning he is winning a s*** load of games for the yanks who lead the league in come from behind wins. take off the hater shades. the better offensive player doesnt always win the mvp the most valuable player on the team is.even if manny has 2 or 4 more homers and 4 or 5 more rbi its not a huge difference.boston players are having better offensive years than the yankees. ortiz, damon, varitek etc are all having great years. all the espn analysts and ppl that cover anything with baseball ppick sheff. hes the MVP without a doubt

Because Manny's #2 guy is having a much better year offensively than Shef's #2 guy
