August 26, 200421 yr EDIT: Ichiro just got his 200th hit in the bottom of the 9th inning on a solo homerun to straight away center field on the very first pitch he saw. He is the first player in the history of baseball to get at least 200 hits in his first 4 seasons in the big leagues. His home run was LoDuca-like, the whole stadium gave him a standing ovation before he even walked out of the dugout or announced his name, then he steps up and his a jack to center field on the first pitch he saw, it was truly amazing. He's going to give Pete Rose a run for his money down the road... pun intended :lol .

August 27, 200421 yr Author i doubt ichiro plays into this 40s. 3000 hits in the majors is a major stretch. 528180 I don't, Ichiro has probably the best work ethic and is one of the most well conditioned players in all of baseball. If any 20-something year old in the big leagues right now is going to be playing into their 40's, it's him.
August 27, 200421 yr Ichiro would have to produce at the same level until he is 44 years old just to approach 4000. not happening.

August 27, 200421 yr If he would've come to MLB sooner he would've had a shot at it. 528634 He still does...You cant just say "would've" right now
August 28, 200421 yr if he came here when he was, say, 23, he'd have the record without too much trouble, now, 4000 hits is a long shot
August 28, 200421 yr Ichiro entered the league to old to get 3,000 hits. That doesn't mean he won't be recognized as one of the greatest hitters of all time.
August 28, 200421 yr u guys think he has a realistic shot @ sisler's record? 529341 He's hitting .500 since the break and already has over 200. HELL YEA!!! :super
August 28, 200421 yr Too bad his team sucks. 529509 He was on a team that won 116 games his first season, and they were a winning team the next two. Only evil people like Jeter can be on a winning team every year.
