DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) -- A November win by Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry would put the United States at risk of another "devastating" terrorist attack, Vice President Dick Cheney told supporters Tuesday.

Kerry's running mate, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, responded by calling Cheney's comments "un-American."

Cheney told Republican supporters at a town hall meeting in Des Moines that they needed to make "the right choice" in the November 2 election.

"If we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again -- that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States," Cheney said.

How long before we see a "Vote Bush or we'll all die!" commercial?

Sadly this stuff works. :confused

And I love how Kerry has taken the bait. Hes been Cheney bashing since the RNC. Truth is independant voters arent voting for the VP they're voting for the pres. So Bush has used Cheney to do the dirty work and Kerry has responded by attacking Cheney back. Dirty trick, but very effective and working to the tee

Meh.

Call me when Kerry stops running on the "I'm not Bush" platform.

if kerry gets elected and we get attacked, dont look to kerry, look to the dumb asses who voted for him!!

Sadly this stuff works. :confused

Vote for Bush again and we'll get more destructive hurricanes.

does that mean we should blame the people who voted for Bush since we were attacked while he was in office?

the sad thing is bush is mediocre piece of garbage. the sadder thing is kerry doesn't offer anything better, yet people will vote for him not to vote for bush.

meanwhile i say: VOTE LIBERTARIAN!

The reality is we get hit again at some point no matter who is in office...

So, so very true. If you want to identify the greatest problem when it comes to the selection of credible statesmen in high political office don't look at the candidates, look at the moronic, ignorant cretins that are the American voting public. They're the ones who decide to care about stupid, insignificant issues like which way Kerry's swiftboat turned during a firefight in Vietnam or whether or not Bush reported to a National Guard that didn't want him 30+ years ago.

God the public scares me soooooo much sometimes.

Always refreshing to see your posts FF. And I couldn't agree more. Hell, I'm still an ignorant piece of shite myself.

The problem is that in the modern 'industrialized' countries, people's beliefs are often dictated by what they see or hear on media outlets. This is an Aristocracy and so is france, spain, england, germany etc. Why? Whether the people in power choose socialism or laissez-faire capitalism, the end result is that some rich people are deciding whats best for the masses. Its completely elitist.

What can be done different?

You got me. But if anything govt needs to stay out of our lives as much as possible. We should be free to do as we please as long as we dont violate someone else's rights. How do we define rights? We'll go by what THIS country is based on...life, liberty, property. Govt should not tell us what to do or how to live our lives at all. How does this affect the dominant political classes? No welfare for individuals nor corporations. No instiliing of 'traditional values' on anyone or vice versa. Freer people means more choice and less allowing of the rich to dictate what we do
