So why would they come here?
September 14, 200421 yr Assuming Benitez is healthy, I'm sure everything will be ok with the bullpen. And no we can't acquire anyone via trade, and anyone on free agent market is worthless.
September 14, 200421 yr Also.... What team in MLB has a great bullpen? nobody :confused Every bullpen is going to blow games
September 14, 200421 yr Also.... What team in MLB has a great bullpen? nobody :confused Every bullpen is going to blow games 558399 Um alot
September 14, 200421 yr Author Other than Benitez, we have very little... Mota's been very shaky-not as dominating as he was in LA
September 14, 200421 yr Relievers are going to blow games from time to time. We will live or die with what we have, we won't find anything better.
September 14, 200421 yr I think Mota has been asked to throw more than one inn too many times. 17 games thus far and he's been asked to go one plus 7 times. If you look at his stats, ERA is basically a scratch between LA and FLA, a little better in LA, but Ks per 9 is way up. I think he's been filthy here for the most part. It would be interesting to see how he was used in the two games he blew and the days that proceeded them (i.e. was he asked to go more than one inn)
September 14, 200421 yr Also.... What team in MLB has a great bullpen? nobody :confused Every bullpen is going to blow games 558399 The Cards, Angels, and countless other teams have awesome bullpens...

Unless, of course, your name is George. :whistle

What team in MLB has a great bullpen? nobody? :confused Every bullpen is going to blow games 558399 The Cards, Angels, and countless other teams have awesome bullpens... 558432 And they all blow games. Go to a Cardinals, Angels or Yankees game chat one day and they'll robably complain about the bullpen. No one is ever happy with their bullpen. Even when the Dodgers had Tom Martin and Guillermo Mota, some fans were telling me that it was overrated! We don't need anyone, if anything we have problems by just having too many relievers! Not enough time to keep them all sharp.
September 15, 200421 yr Speaking of awsome bullpens look at Seattles last year, just some of the names. Shigetoshi Hasegawa (1.48 ERA in 73.0 IP) Arthur Rhodes (Good enough to start out the year taking the place of Keith Foulke) Julio Mateo (3.15 ERA in 85.2 IP) Jeff Nelson (3.35 ERA and we all know how nasty he is... Rafael Soriano (1.53 ERA in 53 IP... next big closer in the league) Kazuhiro Sasaki (Didnt play much but was one of the best closers in the bigs) Armando Benitez :whistle
September 15, 200421 yr Mota is alright. But if he was that great, as people say he is, why would LA have gotten rid of him so easily. OK Brad Penny was GOOD, no question. But LA must have thought Mota worth taking out for Penny.

I never heard any intelligent fan rip the Dodgers bullpen...they must be the ones who love Choi
September 15, 200421 yr Author There were some questions being raised about his health and effectiveness right b4 trade...and they may have seen something in that guy they got from Yankees (Babezan) who throws in high 90's and has been awesome... hope Mota's arm is ok; we sure miss Fox
