1. what a joke...#10... was awesome series here in LA :notworthy ...if we only had some middle relief :banghead dino
2. isnt Milwood getting around 9 mil???
3. i always liked pavs, but he's still not a proven commodity to offer him anything over 7 or 8 mil, and even that seems high ...he was ok in 2003; very good in 2004 and had a nice post season in 2003, and is only 28...that's it. before that he had been an injury plagued bright prospect with dismal stats my question is i was wondering why the marlins didnt offer him a multi year deal last year when he was arb eligible?
4. can't imagine any self respecting pitcher going to O's...they're in a worse situation than the Tigers
5. Bring Back Choi! 590792 that has to be a joke...Choi, sucks big time!!!! a total waste
6. I suspected an arm injury when his velocity lost about 4-5 mph towards the end of May. Brad had a weight issue, but I don't think it was from South Beach, just lots of fried foods. I guess you could call it sour grapes or a calculated gamble that didn't pay off considering they didn't even want to keep Penny because they were told by the D'Backs that whoever gets Penny from us gets Randy Johnson...which makes me wonder why the hell we didn't just trade for Randy Johnson :cool . 589804 Interesting...caller also mentioned that it was Dbacks who did their homework re: possible Johnson trade, and knew of arm problem and late nights at South Beach.
7. Just heard a caller on an LA talk radio show mention that Penny was hated by Marlins players when he was there, and that he was always in South Beach until all hours in the morning. Another caller mentiioned that ESPN mag is saying that Marlins knew of Penny's arm problem. Anyone know about these? Bottom line is that the fans here feel that DePodesta failed to do his homework.
8. does anyone have a clue who the pitchers were that didn't get along with Rosey? Seems like Beckett and ?
9. no question...PAVANO to say he's our third starter is ridiculous
10. Yeah, part of it was his not signing balls...many seemed to call him very unfriendly, aloof and a jerk. since im such a huge pavs fan, i remember it well...and was very surprised so many didn't like him then.
11. There were some questions being raised about his health and effectiveness right b4 trade...and they may have seen something in that guy they got from Yankees (Babezan) who throws in high 90's and has been awesome... hope Mota's arm is ok; we sure miss Fox
12. The Cards, Angels, and countless other teams have awesome bullpens... 558432 And they all blow games. Go to a Cardinals, Angels or Yankees game chat one day and they'll robably complain about the bullpen. No one is ever happy with their bullpen. Even when the Dodgers had Tom Martin and Guillermo Mota, some fans were telling me that it was overrated! I never heard any intelligent fan rip the Dodgers bullpen...they must be the ones who love Choi
13. funny...not long ago, lots on the board were saying he was a jerk
14. Other than Benitez, we have very little... Mota's been very shaky-not as dominating as he was in LA
15. Is there any chance we can still pick up someone at this late date? In addition to our spotty hitting, the pen is my biggest concern...could be our downfall Even Mota has blown 2 crucial games in set up role
