October 12, 200421 yr Just heard a caller on an LA talk radio show mention that Penny was hated by Marlins players when he was there, and that he was always in South Beach until all hours in the morning. Another caller mentiioned that ESPN mag is saying that Marlins knew of Penny's arm problem. Anyone know about these? Bottom line is that the fans here feel that DePodesta failed to do his homework.
October 12, 200421 yr Josh Beckett is the one that hangs around South Beach until the early morning. I don't see Penny as that type of guy and really doubt it.
October 12, 200421 yr Both of these are rumors --- just the Dodgers trying to find somewhere to pin their dejection. You should know better than to listen to losers who call ESPN radio in the middle of the night.
October 12, 200421 yr I remember hearing about the arm injury a while back. Not so much the 'wild partying' Brad
October 12, 200421 yr I suspected an arm injury when his velocity lost about 4-5 mph towards the end of May. Brad had a weight issue, but I don't think it was from South Beach, just lots of fried foods. I guess you could call it sour grapes or a calculated gamble that didn't pay off considering they didn't even want to keep Penny because they were told by the D'Backs that whoever gets Penny from us gets Randy Johnson...which makes me wonder why the hell we didn't just trade for Randy Johnson :cool .
October 12, 200421 yr Funny how Penny has developed the reputation of arm trouble since he stopped pitching for the radar gun and started throwing strikes. Whatever, they were dissing Penny back in July too.

October 12, 200421 yr well, I'll tale him back in a heartbeat if they don't want him. 589941 I concur.
October 13, 200421 yr Given the arm problems, we might be able to pick him up at a discount. :thumbup
October 13, 200421 yr There's a difference between questioning his desire to be great and "being hated"(read between the lines) The only member and former member of the Marlins who didn't like Penny was Cliff Floyd...and that was a rumor while he was there. BUT if the Dodgers feel they got a raw deal, I'll be happy to have Penny back...as while as dawg31 back in the forum
October 13, 200421 yr well, I'll tale him back in a heartbeat if they don't want him. 589941 Absolutely. They can keep lo duca, enc, and mota, if they give us penny and choi back.

If there were wouldnt a physical show if he had any arm problems. 3. Ill take Brad Penny back in a heartbeat and Ill take Choi back, but Lo Duca and Mota stay
