Pavano, who fired his previous agents at IMG and is said to be shifting to Ron Simon, has privately told friends he has no interest in pitching in New York. He is said to favor staying in Florida (if the Marlins get a stadium deal approved) or, failing that, staying east (as in the Orioles or Red Sox). Pavano is perhaps the best free agent pitcher out there. That's good news... Boston has deep pockets and a lot of holes to fill, but their sabrematric front office may not be too excited with Pavano. Baltimore will have no incentive to put together a competitive team if MLB agrees to assuring them an minimum revenue because of a team in DC.

October 10, 200421 yr I think the Orioles would be dumb to not go after him...they have a good defense and good offense...but they are desperate for pitching. Carl would be a great addition to that sad rotation. But if he goes to the Red Sox...he wont have to worry about facing them at all....lol...how many runs did they score in that first inning again?? Still....I want to see him stay a Marlin!!
