September 21, 200421 yr Lamar Gordon is averaging 1.7 yards a carry. Are dolphins supposed to compete with him at running back? :confused
September 21, 200421 yr I think he'd do fine if he had a half decent O-line, unless you're Barry Sanders you probably won't run too well when guys are getting to you as you are handed the ball.
September 21, 200421 yr seriously though, i felt sorry for him and freeley last night. That's a bad OL
September 21, 200421 yr this thread is misleading... the Dolphins dont have a running back. :plain 566778
September 21, 200421 yr Gordon has solid talent, as he showed last year in St. Louis. Problem is, the Dolphins don't have an offensive line, and Gordon isn't Barry Sanders or Walter Payton, so he needs some people to block in order to run the ball successfully.

September 21, 200421 yr Actually, Sanders "supposedly" had a bad-line. That's why most great Barry Sanders runs he ran backwards, then forwards, then to the sidfes, back some more, a hole opened up and he ran for 90 yards. Personally, I think Barry made his line look bad, but he's the legend, not me.

I'm not knocking him, but that was a general trend in all his "amazing" runs they'd show. There'd be a hole, he just didn't take it.
September 21, 200421 yr Alright, well can we agree Walter Payton had no blocking for the first 8 years or so of his career??
September 21, 200421 yr The OL sucks, what do you want him to do? 566802 I want him to run the ball even though he can't because of his offensive line but you'd think cause he's in the NFL he could still get yards even though he has no help but they try to help but they're just not good so they can't help so he can't get yards even though he should be able to because he's in the NFL even though he can't.

September 21, 200421 yr Author Some teams probably have a better second string o-line than the phins' starting one. :thumbdown
