September 21, 200422 yr Ask any other team to do anything near what you'd want in baseball and they will laugh at you. This team's front office tries to make do, but you can't say they don't try. There is just no solution and refunds are out of the question according to MLB. 567476 I think people should be mad about this treatment...im more flabergasted at the way people brush it off as if its no big deal. Oh well i can enjoy a game the same from home as i can fromt he stadium...but whats one measley peasants opinion right :thumbdown

I have never been mistreated by the front office of Loria and Co. and he may have had a bad experience, but remember that things like 3 Hurricanes in a month don't happen everyday.

September 21, 200422 yr front office could do nothing. the man was asking for them to refund him. On your ticket it says the only give rain checks. He knew what he was getting into. I don't like it, nobody likes it, but that has been the rule for as long as I can remember. Slamming the team like that is uncalled for. You knew what you bit into, it soured and you now complain? He can come back when he learns how baseball works.

September 22, 200422 yr In order for the policy to change, the team would need to raise ticket prices to set up a contingency fund for refunds. That doesn't exist now. The team can't afford to refund the tix alone right now.
September 22, 200422 yr Anyway you put it thats crap. Yesterday I went to exchange my tickets and they didnt even have tickets for the section i originally purchased and would not refund the diff. I am pist as hell. This doesnt mean i wont go to games it just shows me once again what an ahole's most team VP's and higher up's are. And i dont want any silly promotion or stupid discount. Hopefully the city reconsiders and forces Loria to use his own money to finance the stadium! 567310 So what youre saying is that you dont mind if the Marlins leave Miami because thats exactly what will happen if there is no help from the city, county and state.... Like Cape said on the ticket it clearly states NO REFUNDS only exchanges...sure it sucks that this guy lives in JAX and its hard to go to another game but thats just how the cookie crumbles For anyone to mistreat, talk crap, or makes fun of Loria is a complete moron or just has a vendetta against him, this guy has done nothing but put a WINNING product on the field and doesnt bitch and moan like our previous owners
September 22, 200422 yr I completely agree with what the Jacksonville Marlins fan said in his letter. I've got season tickets and have tickets to every game for the rest of the season, when a couple of the games were cancelled/moved to Chicago I ended up having more tickets than games left. I called the season ticket office and they told me that I cannot get a refund for them, they wouldn't even let me put the tickets towards next year or put just include them into the price of my playoff strip/deposit for season tickets next year. It's a horrible policy that has left a sour taste in the mouth of many diehard season ticket holders. I could understand them not wanting to refund the tickets for someone that just bought them online or at the box office and simply allowing them to exchange the tickets, but it's no way to treat season ticket holders which spend thousands of dollars every single year and support the team through thick and thin. It's like once they've got your money for season tickets they stop caring. You would think, after giving them almost 3 grand for two playoff strips less than a week ago they'd be able to find a way to remedy this situation for season ticket holders (if they don't make the playoffs that money will just go towards season tickets for next year so the Marlins end up getting it either way).
September 22, 200422 yr oh well we lost a fan in jacksonville and gained a couple thousand in Chicago.

I exchanged founders club tickets from the cancelled Expos series last week for the game against the Braves this past Saturday and the founders club was completely sold out and all that remained were terrace box seats, so I basically ended up sitting in the terrace box but paying founders club prices which is ridiculous and my season ticket rep would not do anything at all for me to make up the difference in cost, and it was a large difference.
September 22, 200422 yr I can't think of any organization, sports or otherwise, that gives refunds on an event that has been rescheduled. That's just how it goes. Hardly a rare occurance. 567336 While that may be true, that is certainly not the case for games that are completely cancelled or relocated to another state. The Marlins have done a very poor job of handling this situation.
