September 24, 200421 yr I dig some remakes. Some are shameful to the original song. Which one do you like best? I threw up a couple that I like to listen to, but it's open to say anyone you like....
September 24, 200421 yr My faves of those are Turn the Page and Behind Blue Eyes. Thrice's remake of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" is also good.
September 24, 200421 yr Author Eleanor Rigby :thumbup I love Turn the Page...another one off of the garage, inc. album is Whiskey in the Jar. They took an old Irish folk song and made it rock. Good stuff.
September 24, 200421 yr Yeah Garage, Inc. was just a random CD. They redid some songs and just threw other songs together. And I always mess up the name of Eleanor Rigby.
September 24, 200421 yr Author Mad World - Amazing Song. It fit into Donnie Darko so well. I like the Tears for Fears version better, but it's just such a great song.
September 24, 200421 yr Nas-"My Country" It's pretty cool take on that song, "Everybody wants to rule the world" or whatever. You probably need to be a liberal to appreciate it, but it's pretty neat. For non-rap, that No Doubt one is pretty well done.
September 24, 200421 yr Gary Jules' cover of "Mad World" is the only coversong ever, in my opinion, to be better than the original. the Tears for Fears version is good too, but a lil bit more fast paced. the slower, sadder Jules' version goes along so well with the lyrics, and his voice adds more depression to it. truly, an amazing cover.
September 24, 200421 yr Korn recently came out with a remake of the song "Word Up" which was a rap song I think, which is pretty good.
September 24, 200421 yr Donnie Darko made that song amazing. 570149[/snapback] What a frickin movie. Especially in the current Hollywood scene which is nearly devoid of creativity. How many times do we have to suffer through the lame romantic comedy mold?
