some huuuuuuge college football games today like

West Va vs Va Tech

Purdue vs Notre Dame

LSU vs Georgia

Auburn vs Tennessee

Cal vs Oregon State

and my personal favorite, Meeeeechigan at Indiana :plain

FIU finally gets on the field after a game was cancelled and another postponed. Should be a good game as we host our first ever I-A school.

is lousiana-lafayette really a division I school though?

:)

This from an SMU fan.

Ohio State is at Northwestern tonight at 9. NW DT Luis Castillo (tee hee) called us "mediocre" earlier this week...

I mean, it's true, but he was dumb to say it. 28-7 Buckeyes.

West Virginia losing 16-0 to Virginia Tech. The post-Michael Vick sub-.500 in conference play Virginia Tech has shut down Mountaineers' RB Kay Jay Harris. West Virginia is at best a #20-25 team.

Florida State's Wyatt Sexton is lightyears ahead of Chris Rix.

Upset watch:

TCU 0 - 17 Army, 3rd quarter

Citadel 3 - 7 Duke, 1st quarter (push?)

Edit: VT's Randall threw an interception which WV ran back for a TD. 16-6 with the kick coming.

we would beat lousiana-lafayette.

Of the two high schools I attended that field football teams, both won games last night. Woohoo! Sure, Watkins Mill's win was against a school where golf is more popular than football. But Richard Montgomery after years of watching their football and basketball teams struggle to combine for 10 wins, has the top running back in the league and have a very favorable schedule left.

I hope no one bet on FSU to cover the spread (28.5). They need 2 TDs with 12 minutes left.

NC State beats Wake Forest in overtime. Damn, it would have been funny. Little old Wake beating the Pack again on homecoming day.

Tune into Rutgers and Syracuse if you can. Mediocre teams, but it looks to be a good finish.

VT finishes off WV. No undefeated season for the 'Eers. Now they need to get past Pitt, Rutgers, BC, UConn, Temple, 'Cuse and Poor Sisters for the Big East's BCS bid.

Damn Big East refs just called for 4th down penalties on the offense, making me miss the start of GT-Miami.

And 'Cuse opts for a TD instead of running out the clock with the lead. :banghead End it already!

Purdue up 13-3 on ND

Twins game suspended for Minnesota - Penn State game

MINNEAPOLIS -- Many fans enjoy baseball because the game isn't decided by a clock. The Twins are with them on that.

Minnesota's game Saturday against the Indians was suspended after 11 innings, with the score tied 5-5, in order so that the Metrodome field could be prepared for the University of Minnesota football game scheduled for the evening.

The game will be completed beginning 1:10 p.m. CT on Sunday, prior to the regular scheduled regular season finale.

The Twins bullpen held the Indians scoreless over the last four innings. Joe Nathan was lights out in 10th and 11th to preserve the 5-5 tie, striking out four of the six batters he faced. Juan Rincon shut down the Twins with scoreless eighth and ninth innings. Joe Nathan came on in the 10th and was lights out, striking out two of the three batters he faced.

The Twins couldn't capitalize on several key opportunities to score. In the 10th, they put runners at first and second with one and but failed to get them across when Michael Cuddyer and Pat Border both went down swinging.

In the eighth, the Twins threatened against reliever Jason Davis. Corey Koskie led off with a single to right field and was replaced by pinch-runner Augie Ojeda, who stole second base during the next at-bat and then took third on a wild pitch from Davis.

After a one-out walk to Cristian Guzman, Luis Rivas hit a groundball to third baseman Casey Blake, who threw home in time to nail Ojeda as he tried to score. Pinch-hitter Jacque Jones was hit by a pitch to load the bases, but the Twins couldn't make anything of it as Lew Ford fly out harmlessly to left field.

The Indians jumped ahead briefly in the see-saw battle in the seventh, doing damage against Twins relievers. J.C. Romero allowed a lead-off walk to Grady Sizemore to begin the inning, followed by a one-out single to Ben Broussard, which put runners at the corners.

With two outs, Grant Balfour entered the game in place of Romero and gave up a hard-hit groundball to Casey Blake. Third baseman Corey Koskie made a great diving stop but couldn't throw out Blake, allowing Sizemore to score for a 5-4 Indians' lead.

Cleveland's lead was short-lived, as Minnesota rallied to tie the game for the third time in the bottom of the seventh. Lew Ford led off with a single up the middle against Indians starter Jake Westbrook and Jason Kubel followed with a single to center that put runners at the corners. The next batter, Torii Hunter, grounded into a double play, which brought home Ford to even the game at 5-5.

Carlos Silva got off to a rough start in the ballgame, giving up two first-inning runs on two hits and a walk. He also gave up a solo home run to Grady Sizemore in the fifth that put Cleveland in front 4-3.

Silva finished the day after six innings with four runs allowed on nine hits and two walks. The first-year starter was not nearly as sharp as in his five previous September starts, during which he went 4-0 with a 1.72 ERA.

Westbrook, who entered the game with the third-best ERA in the American League, failed to win his third straight start. The Twins roughed him up for five runs on 11 hits over his seven innings of work.

Wow.

Hawkeyes beat MSU 38-16.. Drew Tate is gonna be awesome.

We lose our starting RB Jermelle Lewis with a knee injury, probably torn ACL.. 2 weeks before we lost our 2nd string running back with a torn ACL, 4 weeks ago we lost our 3rd string RB (3rd down back) with a torn ACL and we lost our 4th string RB before the season started because of punishment.. Down to Marques Simmons who I played against in High School.. transfer from Nebraska.. not much of a drop off. He's good. Anyway, Go Hawks.
