Ramp is wrong, his "contacts" or "friends", that he has relied on have never been right in the past and most likely will not be in the future. Even if they are today (which they aren't): Palmeiro is over the hill and his power numbers would severly decline at the Pro. De Rosa is nothing more than a backup-utility player, now and forever. He is nothing. Marquis has been nothing more than a dissappointment with a questionable heart and fire for the game. He is nothing special. The Rangers are looking to dump payroll, not add and to pick up all of Palmeiro's salary even to get a young pitcher like Penny would not be a very realistic move. Get real, these trades don't even make us better.
June 30, 200322 yr Author i shouldnt have to defend myself but my 'contacts' said we would go after Mike Hampton and Juan Pierre(although they didnt mention a 3 way deal) and it was for Preston and CJ they also said there was a 3 way deal breweing between the Reds, Expos and us last summer and although they werent 100% correct, they got most of the people right but take this rumor for what it is......... a rumor
July 1, 200322 yr BRING PUDGE AND RAFEL TOGHTER !!! DO IT JEFF!!! The only way I see Loria going and getting some parts to help make a run at the WC is if we can keep within 5 games of the WC before the trade deadline.
