according to realgm.net the miami heat have $11,804,922 in cap space. The Heat need to hope for a nice rise in the salary cap when it is announced in a week or so. When you have no state income tax, it is actually a lot more than other teams with $12 million to spend can pay. (When it's all said and done, and save the Texas thing, I know they have no state income tax too).

Third you have to fill up 12 roster slots, the ones not filled by players going for the minimum salary. Now tell me..... Do the Heat have 12 million dollars for a max contract? I have heard 11. DLee is one of the better 1st baseman in the league... but he struggles when the game is close thats all that is seperating him from being the best he already dominates in defense.... Oh well, not everyone can be the best. Only one can, that is why they are the best! He is, as you said, one of the better 1B in the league. Now if that is not accecptable, then you are being unfair. Instead of going off on Lee and bashing him, I would rather bash people like Pavano and Hollandsworthless, who do not produce and suck. I'd rather have a team of 9 Lees than 9 Pavanos or Hollandsworthless'.

Carcy is having a great, but quiet year. I'm pretty sure he's second or third on the team in hits. But the reason why we don't think he's a worthless pile of fly attracting, smelly, runny crap like Lee is because he wasn't supoosed to be as good as he is. Cary is over-performing, Lee is underperforming. If I recall correctly, it was Encarnacion who was billed as the person to have an "MVP" like season before this year started, not Lee. Lee was supposed to have a 40HR year, which is still possible, not likely, but possible.

you're right Encarnacion's hr was worthless at that point, but he ges alot of hits when the game is still a game..... i wont get in to an argument about Lowell and Lee, that is pointless the Lowell-Lee argument is a bit far-fetched because Lowell is an All Star, and his RISP #s are higher than Lee's. But Encarnacion and Lee are very very similar in #s. Yet Lee gets criticized, adn Encarnacion does not. stats and numbers and sabermetrics may say they are close but Encarnacion is more 'clutch' god i hate that word meaning he hits when the game is still close...... its unfortunate, but Derrek doesnt do that too often You just hate DLee, that's all there is too it. You don't bash Hollandsworthless, Pavano, Encarnacion when they do bad (especially the first two). Just DLee. You have a real hard on for him. He is a solid, if not above-average all-around 1B, get over it. End of story.
