I don't get some of you!
What makes Dunn so much better than Lee? Well lets see, Dunn has way more homers than Lee and RBI's. Dunn hits better than lee when it comes to Clutch. Dunn has a better arm. There are alot of things than Dunn is good at and D.Lee isnt. Oh and also Dunn is younger and has more potential to be better than Lee(which he already is)The main reason we dont like Lee is because he sucks with RISP. You just cant compare Dunn with Lee..... Actually, Dunn does not have a better arm than Lee, and Lee plays 1B so that point is irrelevant. And better with RISP? While Lee is hitting a paltry .232 with RISP, Dunn is hitting a vomitable .191. So, is he really better with RISP? Dunn also hit just .208 last year with RISP while Lee hit .245. So, I ask you what facts do you have backing your claims up?

Cavs win the LeBron lottery...
Kevin Garnett plays the small forward spot...that is true usually.... However, Garnett himself is an anolomy. Garnett is also a league leader in rebounds, he does the dirty work as well.... Garnett only plays the small forward, because there is no other candidate for the spot...if they had someone who could play there effectively, allowing Garnett to move down low....then he will do that. Lamar Odom also is an anolomy...but what has he done lately, aside from getting busted for pot...Odom has had two mediocore years in a row.... Magic is the greatest anolomy of all.... He could play any position on the court, something no other player has ever been able to do... Magic is a hall of famer and Garnett is well on his way to being a hall of famer... Are you trying to tell me that Nikoloz Tskitishvili is going to be a hall of famer? He couldnt even crack the regular rotation of the Nuggets last year...what does that tell you? How bad was he? As far as Rodney White, you seem to agree with me....why would you choose Rodney White over Carmelo Anthony? Now onto the Miami Heat crack...that goes back to me blasting Goldberg....I assumed you were backing him up and since I know where Goldberg is based..that is where I came up with that crack...The Heat are stuck with the 5 pick most likely...no matter what they do...they have no tradable commodities, unless they trade down. Its all about scouting and player devlopment....some franchises know how this is done...others do not. Did I once compare him to Garnett, Magic or Odom? Did I once say he is a future hall of famer? No! You asked me to name one other 7 foot SF and I did, plain and simple. The way you twist and manipulate it into me saying that he is the same player as all of them is just a copout admittance that I was correct in what I wrote. Yes, he did not crack the rotation, as a 19-year-old kid. He was not a starter on his foreign club either. But they did draft him #5 for a reason and they should give him more than a one, or even two year audition. Yes, I would rather have Carmelo than either of them but if they chose to trade down, say for a JWill and #7 package, I would understand completely. Get a PG of the future and a top 10 pick. Sure, makes perfect sense. I was not defending Goldberg overall, but what he reported was not a false or mistaken report. And yes, I do believe they will have the 5th pick unless they trade down, but who argued that?

Cavs win the LeBron lottery...
I know nothing about basketball? Look Nikoloz Tskitishvili is not a shooting forward....his body is bulit like a foward/center....its up to him to get his a** in the weight room and fill out that body. Name me one other 7 foot small foward? Aside from that, many have said that he was the worst pick of last year's draft. As far as Rodney White, I agree he is a guard/forward...he is just not that good. The Pistons already gave up on him, and it will only be a matter of time until the Nuggets do so as well. Unless the Nuggets are dumber than I actually think they could be.....they will NOT trade away Carmelo. Again what does the Heat have to offer? Not a damn thing. the dropoff after the top three is drastic. Did you ever see either of these two players play? I will say the answer is probably no. Rodney White and Nikoloz Tskitishvili are crap. Nikoloz Tskitishvili MIGHT develop eventually, but White is destined to be a career bench role player. Nothing more. Why would the Nuggets jetision Carmelo Anthony just to see these two stiffs develop and fail? Question I will assume you are a Heat fan.... What do they have to offer. Question dos Answer to first question is apparently not. By the way Mr. Basketball genius, SF stands for Small Foward, not Shooting Foward. Kevin Garnett usually plays SF anyway. In the beginning of the year Loren Woods started at PF, then when healthy Joe Smith did and Garnett was the SF. Lamar Odom is a 6'11'' SF as well. Everyone is different, Magic Johnson was a 6'9'' PG, how many of those have you seen, and was he effective? You bet. Many have said he was the worst pick, many have said JWill was the worst pick, but it has been one year. He was 19 when he was drafted, he was not supposed to make an immediate impact. Maybe he will pan out, maybe he won't, give him time. Dirk was not great his 1st year, neither was McGrady. Butch Carter, McGrady's coach in Toranto said he did not think McGrady would last in the NBA. They turned out alright, didn't they? Rodney White, same thing. He left Charlotte after his freshman year and is just 22-years-old. Ricky Davis, who averaged over 20ppg this year, was thrown away by Charlotte and Miami because they felt he would never develop. He had difficulty after he left after his freshman year and it took him several years to get it together but if he never got the opportunity to prove himself then nobody would have known how good he could be. The Nuggets have several holes on their team and may want to aquire as much young talent as they can rather than stockpile at the same general position. Would I take Carmelo if I were them, hell yes, but I am not them and who knows what they will do. And, yes, I am a Miami Heat fan but what does that have to do with anything. I think Chicago can offer a much better deal then anything we can, since besides Caron Butler we would have nothing they would want and he is not going anywhere. You just pulled that out of your a**. And yes, I have seen them play and White does not have enough ball skills, at least not yet, to play any guard position. And Skita did not impress me but I would not be surprised one bit if he became a good player.

Cavs win the LeBron lottery...
Upon further review.... I have come to the conclusion that you dont know what you are talking about Marlins Bandit Nikoloz Tskitishvili is a 7 feet tall forward/center. His development will have nothing to do with selecting Carmelo, if it were Darko we are discussing then you would have an arguement. Rodney White, while a guard/forward will not prevent the Nuggets from taking Carmelo. Explain to me again how Goldberg is on top of things? I have come to the conclusion that you are oblivious to the game of basketball DAS TEXAN Skita is a center? ROFLMAO that is the craziest thing I have heard. He is a 7ft, 225lb 3-point shooting small foward, who can maybe play some power foward. Check his bio from nbadraft.net here, it says nothing about center Skita's Draft Bio As far as Rodney White, yes he has some ball skills but not enough to be a SG or PG. He is a true, 6'9'', 230lb SF. Chek his bio out big mouth: Rodney White's Bio Oh and I guess you know more than the people from the insider in the ESPN Insider. Here is what they said recently: Is Denver Melo on Anthony? By Chad Ford NBA Insider Send an Email to Chad Ford? Tuesday, May 27 Updated: May 27 9:44 AM ET? By now we know the Cavs will select LeBron James with the first pick in the NBA Draft and the Pistons will select Darko Milicic at No. 2. That means the Nuggets will select Carmelo Anthony with the third pick, right? Umm ... let's not get ahead of ourselves. James is a godsend to Cleveland in every way imaginable. Darko eventually will give the Pistons the low-post scorer they've coveted for years. Both players are obvious fits, and both teams have been high on them for months. In other words, don't expect the Cavs or Pistons to trade these guys away, unless names like Kevin Garnett or Kobe Bryant are thrown around. The Nuggets, on the other hand, have a mini-dilemma at No. 3. They like Carmelo. They think he's definitely the best player left on the board. It's just that he isn't James or Milicic (both are rated much higher on the draft board), and he's not an ideal fit in their system. The Nuggets already have two young small forwards for whom they have high hopes, Nikoloz Tskitishvili and Rodney White. Although Carmelo may have more upside, and certainly more star power, with so many other holes on the Nuggets, it isn't a slam dunk he'll land in Denver. That poses an interesting dilemma for Kiki Vandeweghe & Co. Do they take Carmelo, like everyone expects, or do they listen to trade offers for him? Several teams later in the lottery are much higher on Carmelo and might be willing to offer a lottery pick and a young star in return. Who's interested? Try just about everyone who missed out on one of the top three spots of the lottery. The Raptors, Heat, Bulls, Wizards, Grizzlies and the T-Wolves appear to be the most eager players if a Carmelo sweepstakes develops. Could the Nuggets actually make out better by trading away the chance to land Anthony? In most circumstances, the answer is no. The Raptors have little to offer, unless they're ready to dump Vince Carter (they aren't). The Heat are in the same position, unless they're willing to jettison Caron Butler (they aren't, either). And the T-Wolves probably would love to find a way to swap Wally Szczerbiak for Anthony, but with Szczerbiak's new extension kicking in this year, forget about it. The Bulls, Wizards and Grizzlies, on the other hand, have some interesting assets to offer. We start with the Bulls because frankly, they have the most ammunition. Would an offer of Jay Williams or Jamal Crawford and the No. 7 pick pique the Nuggets' interest? Denver is very high on French two guard Mickael Pietrus. In one swoop, the Nuggets could give their backcourt a major, major upgrade. If you're the Bulls, the trade makes a lot of sense. They need to thin out their backcourt, and they really need a versatile small forward. Losing Williams or Crawford (sources say new GM John Paxson is higher on Crawford) won't be the end of the world, and there isn't another small forward available at No. 7 with nearly the upside of Carmelo. They've been drafting in the lottery for the past five years, but they've never been able to land an elite talent like Carmelo ... until now? The Wizards don't have as much ammunition, but they do have a former No. 1 pick and the No. 10 pick in this year's lottery. If the team continues to clear house post-MJ, expect it to at least entertain the idea of trading Kwame Brown. If Brown is really as good as some people in the league think, it could be hard for Kiki to pass up the chance to grab another 7-footer and a lottery pick. Pietrus could still be on the board (though the Bulls are high on him) at No. 10. Add Gilbert Arenas to the mix, and the Nuggets are rolling again. Jerry West has been very vocal about his feeling that Anthony, not Darko, should be the No. 2 pick. Is he willing to put his roster where his mouth is? Kiki wouldn't pass on the chance to swap the No. 3 pick for Pau Gasol. Just exactly how much does Mr. West actually like Anthony? It's food for thought. Now, I am not saying that he won't land in Denver, but it is not a guarenteed thing. Guess I showed you a thing or two.

Torborg and Arnsberg
I may be wrong, but do teams allow their 'fired' manager to address the team? i dunno Yes, usually just to have closure and say goodbye since they have been so close to each other.

I don't get some of you!
at 22 Dunn had 128bb 26hr 71rbi and a .249avg i maybe wrong, but i think only about 12 or so other players have ever had year like that when they were 22 Listen, I like Adam Dunn, but I am just making a point here. While Dunn's stats were good last year, almost all of the production came in the first half of the year. He hit .190 post all-star break with 9 HR and 17 RBI (which is awful). He also struck out 78 times and 170 overall. In August he hit .160 and had 6 RBI with 29 Ks. To finish the year, in September he had 3 RBI and 1 HR with 29 K and a .179 BA. Maybe he is in a prolonged slump and will never find his way out. Remember Rick Ankiel before the playoffs his rookie year? He was dominant! Then something went wrong and he has never found he old form since. While I do not think this will happen to Dunn, or will it be as drastic and dramatic I am just trying to make a point. If Boone was not concerned then he would not try to give Dunn all different looks to shake things up (like hitting leadoff :whistle ). Only time will tell, I hope he does well but who knows.

I don't get some of you!
I understand all of this but I am just saying he is still an above average major leaguer. He has decent numbers, with great defense and still has room for improvement. Yet all of you just contiunally rag on him and praise other players, such as Dunn, who are not deserving of squat!

I don't get some of you!
Dunn is only 23..... has alot more 'potential' we have been waiting forever for DLee to breakout and HE DOESNT on paper, his stats are pretty damn good.... when you look at other stats, you realize that he only does well when the game is out of reach, or the season is out of reach I thought this was his year, so far, he has made me(and others), look like a dumbass He does have more potential now, but at one time DLee had more potential then he has now. Potential is just that, potential. Dunn has so many holes and flaws in his swing that who knows how close he will ever come to fufilling it. I think you are too hard on Lee.
-
I don't get some of you!
I do not get all of your logic. I have been watching this board for a while and I seem to notice you all hate and are down on DLee (except one guy). However you all seem to want to trade for Adam Dunn. What makes Dunn so much better than Lee? Lee has played awful this year, yet is still on pace to put up 30HR, 80 RBI, 90 Runs and 35 SB while walking 100 times. Realize that his play can not get any worse, he will only get better and potentially can get 30 HR and 30 RBI while hitting .275, 100 Runs and 90-100 RBI in a terrible hitters park...THIS YEAR STILL! Not to mention he plays Gold Glove defense which goes widly underrated and rarely mentioned. Yes, Adam Dunn is leading the league in HRs but so what! He plays in "Coors East" and still has several huge flaws in his swing since he is batting a robust .214! His HR total would take a huge hit at the Pro and he does not come with near the defense DLee plays. Also look at these comparisons: OBP OPS RISP .358 .804 .232 (DLee) .325 .874 .191 (Dunn) Also, you complain about DLee striking out? He is only on pace for around 130 while I believe Dunn is on pace for a whopping 195. Now, I am not saying DLee is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he has nowhere to go but up and he is still only 27-years-old. The grass isn't always greener on the other side! :mischief2

Cavs win the LeBron lottery...
Hank Goldberg is full of crap. Denver likes the prospects of Carmelo. He would fit in well on this team. They already have Nene up front, adding Carmelo woudl give them that dynamic swingman they want. I doubt you see the Nuggets trade down. It would take a whole lot to do so... No, you are wrong. While they do like Carmelo a lot, they just drafted Skita #5 last year and he plays the # position. They also have Rodney White, who has a ton of potential after leaving after his freshman year to be selected #9 by Detroit. They are both natural 3s like Carmelo. Melo does not have the size to play the four and may not be able to handle the 2 as well so who knows?

Dodgers make a BIG push for Lowell?
remember, Beltre has been in the league 5 years, but he is only 24...... he will break out.... if Lowell goes(God forbid)....I hope Beltre comes in return(assuming Cabs is in LF) I don't know about that. I thought this would be Beltre's make it or break it year and hitting .211 with just 4 HR to date is not bad, it's downright awful. I have heard so much hype on him and at one time I believed it and I truly like him and think he has so much potential but that botched appendix operation was two years ago and now is not valid. He may just go down as one of those players who never truly fills their potential for one reason or another.

What will happen to Willis when Beckett returns?
I meant right now they were pitching like aces..... of course Pavano gets lit up today and ruins my post Anyone can pitch like an ace for a short period of time. That means nothing at all! Short little runs do not win championships, it's putting together quality and consistency for a whole year that does.
-
What will happen to Willis when Beckett returns?
Welcome aboard Bandit Great post! Thank you, I look foward to posting more.
-
What will happen to Willis when Beckett returns?
exactly. right now, not including Beckett, we have 2 Aces(Red & Pavano), and 2 dueces(Penny & Willis-maybe a 3) when Beckett comes back , this rotation will be 'sick' Sorry but I think this statement is way off. We have two aces and they are Redman and Pavano? Pavano is far from an ace! He had a season ERA of 3.63 before the game, which is good but not Ace material, especially for this early in the year. Now after giving up 9 ER in a little over 3 IP to make that ERA skyrocket up to 4.54. He has a career ERA of 4.57 and yet you consider this man an ace?!? Based on what, the stats he had complied 1/3 the way through this year. No sir, he is no ace! :banghead I also want to know what makes Redman a true ace. Yes he has been amazing this year but his career ERA is 4.40 and he has never had a better year than the one he had last year where he compiled a 4.21 ERA. he started off hot like this but faded in the second half, so lets hold off that ace title on him. He is a great professional and knows what he is doing but he has not done anything to be considered an ace...yet. As far as Willis and Penny, they are number twos right now but they, of the four mentioned, are most likely to be considered aces in their careers.
