  1. Ok your a joke to say That Luis Castillo is better than JEff Kent is incredible and shows just what you know... To say he's doing is better than Boone is another thing that makes you laugh... Listen Bandit, Luis last year hit in the low .300's not a huge milestone it was considered a career year! Giles is leading in all star voting and is having a great year, prove me wrong about Giles this year SB are overrated and it shows... Stop yelping about Speed is king because it's like Free HBO at a motel... It's nice but not neccesary... Spivey can hit 300 and give you high teens low twenties in HR's something you know Luis could not do if you gave him A Tennis Ball to hit... I'll agree Ellis should not be on the list but I like him but To say that Luis is better Than Kent and Boone show's your ignorance Fanboy You're a joke. I said that the age would have to be a factor for who I would want on my team. I would take someone 7-8yrs younger who is very productive at what he does over Kent or Boone if I had to make a team. And what makes Spivey a .300 hitter? 2 years ago he hit .258, last year .301 and this year back to .258. I think the 300 was more of a fluke than anything. You are ignorant if you think otherwise. Giles is leading in fan voting....Wahoo! Who GAF? Nobody! Fan voting is greatly overrated. Isn't Shea Hillenbrand leading Lowell in fan voting? It's a ridiculous argument you make bringing up fan voting. He hit .230 last year and .262 the year before. Let's hold judgement on him before we say how great he is. Playing well for 1/3 of a season does not sway me on his greatness. Obviously for a person like you, it does, however. Castillo has hit .300 in 3 of the previous 4 seasons, including one where he hit .334 and is at .315 this year. He has also led the league in SB what, 3 times and is arguably the best leadoff hitter in the game over the past 3 years. Plus to say that speed is nothing is retarded. Castillo has 4 HR this year, which is not great but he has plenty of speed to burn. For someone like Spivey or Giles to make up for that they would have to hit a ton of HR. However, they have 9 and 8 respectively, now those numbers don't blow me away. Your argument is terrible.
  2. I voted last year over 2,000 times with the actual paper ballots...god knows how many times online.... That's scary
  3. if I need the bat, i take Kent and Boone over Castillo... otherwise the only 2 are Vidro and Soriano I can agree on that. But if you need speed and a leadoff man you take Castillo. Also Castillo is 27yrs old while Kent is 35 and Boone is 34, so Castillo will be around longer. Either way, that is still only 4 if you give Kent, Vidro, Soriano, Boone. Who is the 5th better than Castillo? Going once....Going twice....
  4. Although most of you probably don't agree with most on the list you still can't argue with some. Luis is not a top 5 second he's good but The best... No Still can't argue it? HAHA! Yes we can, he is clrearly on the list of top 5 2B. You are insane if you think he is not. I challenge you to really name 5 better, and don't give me that Spivey, Ellis, etc junk.
  5. I'd much rather have Vidro, (This is because of my loyalty of Course) Polanco, Kennedy, Soriano, Ellis is on the fringe, B Boone, Spivey, Giles, and Kent. I'm sure most of you would shorten that list but that's a lot of names I think are better than Castillo, JMO You are reaching big time here! Kennedy? Give me a break. Spivey? That is a laugher. Giles and Ellis? Get real! Spivey had one good year and now is back to batting .258. Kennedy has never been anything and is batting .276 with 3HR (less than Castillo) and does not give you Castillo's speed. Giles is nothing more than a solid 2B and has not proven anything. Ellis is batting .246 and is a career .262 hitter and is the same age as Castillo. Yet somehow he is "almost better than Castillo" ROFLMAO! Kent is over the hill. Boone is a good power hitter but is already 34yrs old. Vidro and Soriano are the only ones I'll give you of who I'd take over Castillo.
  6. If I am going to take one of these options, it is definately A... Dunn strikes out a lil too much ! He homerun or nothin again. he is 24 So were a lot of people once that had potential and have shown nothing for it.
  7. Ty Howington SUCKS! He has a 4-5 record with a 4.71 ERA with 70 Hits allowed and 25 BB in 57 IP, good enough for a 1.67 WHIP in just class A ball! He blows, I would rather have Fidel Castro pitch for me.
  8. i got question for u ..... the first day u posted u said everyone hates on lee except 1 person ? who was that 1 person a couple people, u and jrod weren't haters.
  9. But lowell's got the magic stick so it's a hard decision. ok fifty. :dork
  10. i got banned for cursing at someone Don't sweat it, things happen to the best of us (I should know, I am the best :w00t ).
  11. :o hey im back , im not ganna be like i was b-4 sry? :o Where did ya go? Missed ya buddy, good yo have you back. I enjoy your funny posts. ty Ban , and ty Ramp. No problem pal, but where did you go?
  12. If you breakdown D.Lee stats even further you will come across his obvious flaws. He can't hit when the gam on the line and most his rib's come in meaning less time.On the other hand Lowell produces when it matters and drives run more consistently. I take DLee over Lowell on my team. Thats the way I feel and you won't change my mind. I am not wrong, you can say I am wrong but I feel you are wrong. So be it.
  13. :o hey im back , im not ganna be like i was b-4 sry :o Where did ya go? Missed ya buddy, good yo have you back. I enjoy your funny posts.
  14. i read this article on the plane today... it's like 4/5 were written by the Palm Beach Post and the last 1/5 by Berardino and LeBatard It wasn't bad until they got to the "bottom line", then all hell broke loose. It was garbage at its finest.
  15. well TSN says the Reds are interested in Luis Castillo and Brad Penny.... it would be nice to have Dunn in LF next year, but a Howington, Smitherman, Guillen deal wouldnt be too bad.... hell maybe they would throw in Felipe Lopez(can he play 2nd)... I'd rather have Brad and Luis than all of that Red's package.
  16. That's a copout attitude...... but it's true Maybe in your opinion, but I definitely think you are wrong and it's not true. Please get off cloud nine and realize that D.Lee is just average player.Don't even put him in the same category as Mike Lowell. Look, I never said DLee is great, but he is not terrible either. And just because he is not having as good of a year as Lowell, SO FAR, that does not mean Lowell is amazing and great and much better. I think the previous few years indicate that they are pretty close statistically and that they won't be far off this year. And if they are, some how, then they won't next year. You are on cloud 9 if you think because Lowell has finally hit HRs that he is amazing. And by the way, I do put him in Lowell's category. He is better defensively and I think that makes up for some offense, even though I think they are not far off overall offensively either, this slow start not counted.
  17. I think he meant that 3.74 is middle of the road in the NL whereas a 4+ ERA in the AL is middle of the road (due to the DH). But of course, I'm only assuming. No, I think he was just talking out his a** and messed up, personally.
  18. In this week's Sporting News they gave a scouting report on Dontrelle. They sounded nice then knocked him at the end I feel. Here is what they said: Dontrelle Willis, LHP, Marlins Age:21 Height: 6-4 Weight: 200 2003: Was 4-1 with a 3.00 ERA in his first five starts after being called up from Class AA. Last year: Was 12-2 with a 1.82 ERA in Class A. Throws: Fastball (four-seamer, sinker and cutter), slider, backdoor curve and changeup. Velocity: His cutter brushes 94 mph, his four-seamer consistently is in the low 90s, and his sinker, which he does not throw as much as he should, touches 91. His hard-breaking slider also reaches 91. Command (on a 1-10 scale): 7 Greatest Strength: He has good command of three pitches-a quality cutter, a backdoor breaking ball and a hard slider. Pitching tendencies: Because of his low three-quarters/sidearm motion, he should be tough on lefties. His slider has quality tilt and bite. His 2-8 backdoor breaking ball projects as a quality pitch, although his command of it must improve. He uses a backdoor slider as an out pitch against lefhanders. His slider is more effective against lefthanders. It has more consistent velocity than the one thrown by the Cubs' Matt Clement (one of the pitchers the Marlins traded to obtain Willis), but the pitch's tilt is not as good as Clement's. Willis also features an above-average diving changeup that could become a plus pitch. If his mechanics and command imprive, he will have three plus pitches and two above-average ones. Right now, his best life is on the cutter and slider. He takes minimal time between pitches, and that helps his defense. He pitches far better from the windup. He has plus arm strength with good wrist pop. Areas of concern: A violent, stiff front-leg delivery and hios reliance on cutters and breaking balls leave him vulnerable to arm injury and diminishes his command from the stretch. He occasionally gets under his backdoor breaking ball, causing it to roll. He slings the ball. his tendency to "wrap" his wrist and hitch after he breaks his hands will limit the development of a 12-6 curveball. During his delivery, he raises his glove much higher when throwing his hard slider or backdoor breaking ball, which tips his pitches to hitters. Bottom Line: With maturity, experience and better mechanics, he projects as a No. 3 starter for a championship-caliber club, or a No. 2 starter for an average-or below average club. He does not project to have the stability, mechanics, or overall mound prescence to be a No. 2 starter for a championship club.
  19. no one will ever say Lee is clutch, no matter if the records resarted in the 2nd half or not.. Lowell plays well the whole 1st half...not just the first 2 weeks when wins and losses dont matter much... That's a copout attitude.
  20. While we are talking about Floyd, I'd much rather have him and spent the money on him indstead of Pudge. Overall they seem to put up pretty similar stats year and we already had a decent set of catchers in Redmond and Castro. Floyd would have helped the lineup more and he already had a grasp of the NL pitchers. Thats just my opinion.
  21. the season is normally over in the 2nd half...and Mike loses any protection he had... I am not disputing the fact that he slumps in the 2nd half...but Mike Lowell plays best when the team is in some contention.... Id like to see his stats when the team is actually in a race in the 2nd half...same goes for DLee And before this year and Alex sarting to play well, what protection has Derrek Lee ever had? The answer is none, yet he has always put up the same numbers as Lowell. He doesn't have his RBI chances and he doesn't have Lowell's protection, yet the numbers are remarkably similar. How do you pass that one off Ramp? Just because Lowell is a fast starter and Lee is a slow starter does not mean he is more clutch because the team is in contention! Every team is in contention to start the year, the records all start at 0-0 for god's sake! If the records restarted in the 2nd half, then you would think Lee was the clutch one and Lowell sucked. Facts are facts, there is no two ways about this either because what I have said is true!
  22. of course he will heat up... because the Marlins will be out of it by then... the guy doesnt play well when it counts.... maybe he will come out of this offensive coma.....we need his bat NOW.... im sure you are now typing up his current stats and they look nice and all but he still stinks when it counts I'm not typing up his current stats to make it look nice, I am just stating the facts before this year. If he heats up in June/July and we are out of it, then that is the whole team's fault, not one players. If I do remember correctly too for as bad a 1st half player as DLee is, Lowell is just as bad or near as bad in the 2nd half. So why don't we all rip him after the break every second of the day? I mean his .232avg with 10HR and 34RBI last year after the break don't look great to me. And his RBI totals from year to year fall dramatically after the break if I do recall off the top of my head, even though the ABs are similar. Hmm....
  23. Hmm Doesn't make any sense? How many starts did Penny have in inter league play? How can his era be over 4 agaisnt N.L??? Brad Penny vs AL 11 2/3 innings 5er so that's about a 3.85 in the AL If that is a 3.85 ERA in the AL, then that would mean his ERA in the NL is even lower than 3.74 so therefore Fillet's post was inaccurate.
  24. anything to keep Mike and get rid of Mr Leave Why is that? Lowell is older than Derrek, yet before this year has not been that much better. They have pretty similar numbers the last two years and the fact that Derrek started the year in cleanup shows more of what people thought of him and what he is capable of than Lowell. Just because he has not had the greatest first third of the season does not mean he can't pick it up! I mean he is on pace for almost 100runs and 32 HR and that is playing poor as hell too. If he ever heats up he can literally still post great numbers. Get off his back. He is great with the glove too.
