October 14, 200421 yr Yes. We just had our third winning season ever and just ran into some bad breaks at the end. You think the '98 team would have liked to have finished like this year's team? You betcha! :thumbup
October 14, 200421 yr Yes, because I think we all knew that it would be an uphill fight for us to make the playoffs after losing all we did in the past offseason. I think it was a tremendous exercise in frustration and I will not look back on that season with all the warm fuzzie feelings that the 2003 and 1997 seasons exude, but it's better than '98, '99, 2000, '01 and '02. I just wish we had the foresight to know that we'd still battle such inconsitencies later in the season, but I wouldn't change a single thing we did during the season. We had a good season, just a bad offseason before it. The way we ended the season left a bad taste in my mouth, but up until that goddamn Hurricane fiasco, we were playing meaningful games in September and I think that's all a fan can really ask for.

October 14, 200421 yr IMO the Marlins had a successful season. Success is measured by many variables though. The team posted only its third winning record, so that in its self is a success. True the team finished in third place and I thought they would do no worse than second, but who could have predicted the Braves. I sat success leads to more success, which is what I think this team can do.

Go back and look at the threads from March and April. Nearly everyone was expecting the pitching staff to do better than they actually did. Most expected that the overall offense had improved. The only questions were about team speed and defense.
October 16, 200421 yr we definetely had a winning season. we didnt make the playoffs but many players achieved greatness this yr. Miguel with his rbis and homers, j.p with his all innings played and his record for hits. there were others too. this team is a winning team, its too bad all the DH and injuries finished them. better luck next yr tho. im proud of them.
