July 4, 200323 yr Why all of the sudden do we want to trade Lee and Penny for Juan Gonzalez? Who is going to play first? I would like the idea if instead we are trading for Palmeiro. But who is going to take Penny's place in the rotation then, Phelps?
July 4, 200323 yr i think it's Penny for Juan Gonzalez and then DLee for bullpen help Miguel Cabrera has started taking groundballs at 1st base(meaning DLee has one foot out the door) this move would probably help for this year and free us up money at the end of the year

Banks, when he starts is a far superior hitter than his average indicates. You aren't going to see the homeruns from Banks that Lee would have at the end of the year, but in a 162 game season I think Banks has the skills to hit 15 - 20 hrs. Cabrera may very well take to the position, he's such a terrific athlete its reasonable to assume he can make the transition. But as I said above, we can't expect him to mature into the type of ballplayer we want him to be without stabilizing what position he plays. It's not fair and its counterproductive. As for Penny (vs. Phelps), perhaps I'm being emotional instead of calculating, but just once I'd like to see some fire in Penny, some indication that he cares about winning and losing. Phelps makes up for his shortcomings by displaying the intensity and fire we as fans want to see in our players. I'll taking Tommy over Brad any day even though I know in my heart that Brad has the higher ceiling. BTW, maybe worth mentioning, Brad penny is a Texas boy.
July 4, 200323 yr ay man chill out willis Ramp is cool..... he doesnt mean to be the downsider on this topic or anything its just that..... you have to think the Future..... and the Future does not include Juan Gone..... this rent a player thing isnt a good thing, also keep in mind this is Juan Gone in 2000 he could have played 4 WS conteders at da ALL STAR break Yanks... he said "NO" this year will the Xpos going 4 da wild card "he said NO"... THE mARLINS HE MAY say yes go chance of it... but what you all Fail To realize Pro Playa is a Picthers park and D.Lee Sucks in a Pitchers Park... so if any you are gonna tell me Juan Gone who has played his entire Carrer with the Rangers and Indians and put up great numbers where the f*** was Juan gone's ALL STAR Stats when he was playing with the Tigers????? "a PITCHERS PARK"????? he was NO WHERE To be Found so all in all Penny is a good 4th starter.. Lee is heating up, and Juan Gone brings nothing to this team in the Future makes no sense...... just say NO TO JUAN
July 4, 200323 yr Gonzalez is more of a pull hitter(i would think, just by watching some highlights) than Derrek Lee..... he also had 0 protection in Detroit, let alone baserunners to knock in

July 4, 200323 yr Ramp Man, if ya gonna make that sattement i would have to agree with you but thats also 1 da year where Bobby higgenson had a good year...... and as you can see Demtri Young is having a solid year he will and should put up better numbers than the Juan gone with a much worse team in the 03 tigers..... as 4 Lee willis..... well, you see what our Batting Coach did with Miggy maybe he should do something with LEE..... its all bout the playaz motivation to get better...... if lee is like miggy than he should do it..... i rmemeber Ripken changing his batting styles like every year always wannted to work harder and make em slef better "the DERICK JETER motivation is very good."...... see what happens from here on out.....
July 4, 200323 yr Derrek's been in this league for 5 years....i dont see him becoming a pull hitter any time soon Higginson had a good year with a decent Tigers team.... they werent as bad they are now Juan Gonzalez could only help this lineup....not hurt it

July 4, 200323 yr Juan Gone Batting 293 18 Jacks 54 RBI's......] Jose Guillen Batting 358 17 jacks 44 RBI's and doesnt make much..... and im sure you can get Guillen just 4 Penny alone... and than trade Lee 4 some Bull pen help or a #4 Pitcher..

Juan Encarnacion Break out year was last year as well to me he has proven him self..... im readdy to give Guillan a chance as well and he is cheap..... with Juan u still have 6.5 to pay and rangers prob back that up with payin half and its still too much..... Guillan i think isnt even makeing a mil...
