ESPNEWS: Backman fired.

This has got ot be the shortest stint by a manager in baseball history. Replaced by former m's manager Bob Melvin. This little controversy just proved what a disaster the Di-backs organization has become. :plain

Thats what you get for having DUI(s) on your record. You can be president, but you can't manage a baseball team.

so true. This is simply ridiculous.

Something tells me there's more than meets the eye. They backed Wally after they found out about his DUI and spousal abuse arrests. I'm willing to bet something else came up that we're not hearing about.

There was more to it. They mentioned on ESPN News how he just recently had legal troubles. When they asked him about it, he was very nonchalant, making it sound like it was completely normal and that those things happen..... That's not the kind of guy you want managing your team... The D-Backs front office took the blame for not doing some more research on the guy before hiring him.
