November 9, 200421 yr Haha, let's put it this way, i'm not your typical evangelical, i'm not your typical republican. For instance, i'm a christian, but I don't believe in trying to force my religion on others (hence i'm against abortion, but think it should remain legal). I'm also a republican, but I agree with a lot of democratic views, and will never vote a straight republican ticket. There are a lot of things in terms of religion that the catholics do (like excommunication, forgiveable and unforgiveable sins) that I also strongly disagree with.
November 9, 200421 yr The catholic religion is fine. its when the leaders start acting like their normal hypocritial selves that things get screwed up.
November 9, 200421 yr As a result of this election I am no longer giving money to the church or attending mass... The day they go back to promoting the values of REAL christianity, then I may go back. For now they are all trying to flex their political muscle and it reminds me too much of the dark ages.
November 9, 200421 yr Author It was also the 2nd smallest electoral victory (after the 2000 election) and the largest amount of votes ever against a candidate for president. The numbers can be skewed to fit your fancy I suppose. However, I see no mandate.
November 9, 200421 yr It was the tightest victory for an incombent president since 1916 with Woodrow Wilson. In 1916 he won 49-46% and 277-254 electoral votes. Compared to this election, 51-48 and 286-252.

November 9, 200421 yr Key word there is victory. 611705[/snapback] If you want to play semantics, there was an electoral victory in 1804, just not determined by vote
