The Angels wanted shortstop Angel Berroa in return. The Royals weren't interested. Guillen, 28, is under contract next season for $3.5 million with a club option for $4 million in 2006 with a $300,000 buyout. Berroa, 26, batted .262 with eight homers and 43 RBIs in 134 games. He will make just $500,000 next season in starting a four-year deal for $11 million. The Royals also have an option on Berroa for $5.5 million in 2009.

Who also despite his terrific power, didn't lead his team in HRs in AA. I doubt Stokes will make it to the Big Leagues for more than a year. He's not even close to being ready right now.

We can't let Pavano and 'Mando and Lo Duca go all in the same offseason. 614923[/snapback] I got the trade scenarios confused when typing that post, I was thinking Pierre and Enc for Guillen in that scenario as the Pierre for Guillen rumor was one that was brought up earlier So that post was one large typo Under that scenario I was thinking as I had mentioned in some earlier post to replace Pierre in CF with Drew because Drew is an immensely better upgrade offensively than that of retaining Lo Duca, I'm talking in every way possible....dollar for dollar as well. I'd rather a deep pen than one in which we have to give the ball to Phelps, Bump, Howard, or Many every 2 days and it'd be cheaper. Alot of potentially cheap bargains as far as the bullpen is concerned. LoDuca is over-rated will be over-valued at whatever he fetches but if we get Guilllen, I guess that would be the only remaining position that we wouldn't be set in and he'd be the best option there. Pierre Castillo Cabrera Lowell Guillen LoDuca Niner Gonzo Decent lineup, and if Beckett and Burnett can stay healthy that's a substantially improved team over last year, I still think the Pierre, Luis tandem at the top of the lineup isn't all that helpful without much power coming from firstbase, or the catcher position.
