Just like every other team in it's first year of expansion or first year in a new city after moving, the novelty wore off after a few weeks when it became evident they were in for a dismal season.

November 26, 200421 yr Beinfest is waiting another two weeks until the arbitration deadline. The Marlins will be competitive and finish in the top half of the league in 2005 and 2006 and 2007.... The Expos have not improved themselves. Rivera and Batista are better than Castilla and Guillen. And Guzman is crap and has no better of a career track than Macier Izturis. Although don't be surprised if they also push for the playoffs. They won 80 games in 2002 and 2003, and had a good second half of 2004.
