Um, every cuban loves baseball. Everybody from the three islands do (Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominian Republic, and yes im fully aware they share an island with Haiti). And people get older, do they not? There is an endless supply of baseball fans in Miami, not in Ft Lauderdale. Thinking for the future? Thats the kind of thinking we have been trying to avoid on the field for 5 years.

I am Cuban and there are barely any Cubans left in Miami! News Flash!!!! Puerto Ricans are becoming rarer as well. Dominanicans are widespread, but they don't come out as much because most don't have such high incomes. Cubans and Puerto Ricans are established here and have been for a while, Dominicans are starting to become established.

We realize that we also have a large fan base north to Palm Beach, and we want to do something about it. Our first choice is Ft. Lauderdale, but we have to keep in mind every intangible.

Admin, hook everyone on the board with box seat tickets for a Braves game when Willis is pitching. Thanks :thumbup

I live in Lee County (Ft. Myers) if I take I-75 straight down to I-595, I can get to Downtown Ft. Lauderdale quicker than Pro Player. People in Lee (Ft. Myers) and Collier (Naples) go to the PAnther's games because it is simple to get to.

Downtown Ft. Lauderdale is the best site for me personally.

Panthers have the same or less attendance than the Marlins. Great arguement there! Not true, the Panthers average 16,000 (capacity is 23,000) a game, while the Marlins average 13,000 (capacity is 36,000) a game. The prices of parking and food would be lower in Ft. Lauderdale. The area is used to the Air and Sea show and has lots of parking and local restaurants. i'll guarantee you food won't be cheaper. If you can go to a McDonald's or Subway a couple of minutes away instead of the stadium food. Competition lowers prices. Remember that Downtown Ft. Lauderdale has suburban neighborhoods around it with all the amenities included.

Well you obviously don't live in Miami because you wouldn't be making such a wrong statement. And where did you get your numbers on the Panthers? I'd like to see them.

No wonder the fish get such great attendance...

actually dt, traveling to the stadium is horrible for people in dade. if you live in broward is a lot easier to get there. the stadium is not near to where the concentration of the population is. have you ever traveled north on the palmetto around 5pm? let's put it this way, i have to live work at 4:30 pm to travel north and get to the park around 6:45 pm. if i travel the same route on weekends it would take me all of half an hour.

Juanky, 16,000 in attendance for hockey is pretty good. 16,000 for baseball is average to below average. Can't compare hockey to baseball.

From ESPN.com, I added all the home game attendance and divided that number the number of home games, giving you average home game attendance.

Name to me somewhere, other than Hialeah where a large bunch of Cubans live. Little Havana, doens't have that many left.

You can't target one race or ethnicity. You must target everyone equally. On average, white people in south florida have the higher salaries, just a census number, nothing else. You must target anyone and everyone.

We need to stop the targeting of only hispanics and target everyone. White, Black, Hispanic, Asians, Native American, etc. Don't close your doors. Sure the LAtin Fiesta is nice, but you don't need to overempasize LAtins-only love baseball, it's not true.

Don't even remind me of the palmetto. That's the #1 reason why I would never live in Miami. It took me 1 hour to travel from US 27 (at the palmetto) to Red Road on 826 which is about 9-10 miles. Where I live, I travel 48 miles to work and it takes me 1 hour to get there.

We were thinking of instilling a policy at our new stadium, where if you pay a certain amount, maybe $7-10, you can buy a ticket allowing you to bring in any amount of personal food into the stadium.

Traffic in Miami is a nightmare, Broward is not as bad, but still distrubing. the nice thing is that the drive to Downtown Ft. LAuderdale is against the flow of traffic.

This has already been touched upon to an extent, but the reason Miami people can't go is due to the ridiculous traffic. The stadium is located terribly to the largest market in the state. Miami is the most densely populated area, you have proven baseball fans here, and you guys will still have the ability to get to it since more people work in Downtown Miami and then travel North. Miami is the place to put the stadium because it is the largest market.
