Cliff Floyd?

Featured Replies

ESPN Insider reports that the Mets are looking to move Cliff Floyd. Could he be a legit possibility for the left-handed power hitter the Marlins want in their outfield? He obviously has experience in South Florida, and could pave the way for the Marlins to move Enc as well. :mischief2

Considering Floyd's attempted extortion via the media to get the Fish to pay him $10,000,000 a year for three years, his subsequent trade and two years of bad-mouthing Loria and the entire front office, I suspect our owner would rather walk out in the middle of 199th street in the middle of rush hour than re-sign this malcontent.

The reason Floyd is available is because he's chronically injured, and even when he's "healthy", his legs threaten to betray him with every step.

For the Marlins to help their divisional foes (the Mets) by taking back Floyd so they can unload his bloated contract makes zero sense. He may wind being traded but as long as Loria owns the team it won't be to the Fish.

I'd say yes if they took Enc and gave the Marlins money too! He can play RF and he despite injuries is a threat lefthanded. Of course he's a threat to get hurt, but it seems the way people hate Enc it couldn't hurt that bad.

I'll pass. He isn't worth the money that he wants, not to mention we would have to give the Mets something in order to get him.

He ought to be in the AL as a designated hitter.

As much as I loathe the guy for all the trash talk he heaped on our franchise I can't ignore the fact that when healthy, he swings a good bat.

Enc has several supporters on this site, me for one. OK, so he is being paid $1M too much. Not that much of a concern if he has an average year....but could be a good deal if he has that break-out year, and he just may.
