Don't be surprised when he doesn't. I love watching Yankee fans talk about their team. They praise their players and aquisitions like if they were gods, then they have expectations the size Texas. Then when the season is over they cry, bitch and moan about that same player and team and claim the sky is falling. Yankee fans wouldn't survive one season rooting for a bad small market team like PIT or KC.

You're correct.... I do have expectactions, and then I sometimes bash a player for not producing like he was meant to ... but I think everybody expects certain players to do certain things and you get disappointed if they don't

Pavano wasn't the Marlins ace... Beckett's injury, Burnett coming back from TJ, and Penny being traded made him into a one year ace. Not much can be said for Wright.

I know our bullpen is s***, but yours took a step down by getting one of the most ovverated pitchers of all time, Mark Mulder by getting rid of Calero. You don't have Steve Kline anymore either. How do you expect Ray "Burger" King and Mike Myers to carry your team.

 

You are missing your main team leaders Matheny and Renteria and lost Womack woh carried your team.

 

We overrate our starters? If we do, we can still say they are a s***load better than your rotation. You guys overrate your rotation a lot also. Next year, your rotation will come back to Earth. I have heard "Rick Ankiel is going to be excellent" "He should compete with Prior". Ankiel is not in Prior's league. The only really good person in your rotation is Mulder. Everyone else is unproven and/or total s***.

 

BTW, I loved watching your WS hitting machine Scott Rolen, he had as many hits as crappy Cub backup catcher Gabor Paul Bako II in the WS :arms :owned

Cardinals fan (from the ones I've met and seen) are very nice people. Cub fans on the other hand are so freaking obnoxious and rude. I learned this first hand during the NLCS and some of the stuff that went on in the stands and outside the stadium.

For one Alomar isnt on this team.. Two we dont need much outta Eckstein and/or Alomar if he signs when you have the best 3-4-5 in baseball.

 

May be missing team leaders in Renteria and Matheny.. I'll certainly miss em.. Womack isnt a huge loss at all. He had a career year last year.. Highly unlikely he will top it this year.. Walker if healthy, will more than be able to put up better numbers than Renteria and Matheny combined last year, ok maybe not the RBI's combined but still. Eckstein can certainly make up for a .300 hitter, with 4 hrs, and 30 rbis or so.. Leadership may be missed but if they were leaders they wouldnt have jeted off to more money.. Screw that!

 

Your right.. Mark Mulder is overated.. But so is Kiko Calero and isnt that much of a loss.. He's had one good year, not all that. Your right Kline is no longer with us but Myers will fill his role nicely.. You happen to fogert that Burger was great last year but once again he's overated.

 

Yes you overate your starters.. Kerry Wood has NEVER won more than 14 games.. Even Jason Marquis did that last year.. Pathetic for a pitcher that's suppose to be a Cy Young contender in Wood.. Mark Prior has been injury prone lately and look how crappy of a year he had last year when he played.. Zambrano has the most talent but he's only had one good year and that was last year.. Maddux isnt that pitcher he once was but he's still solid.. Glendon Rusch is not God.. He may have been last year for your team but he'll suck this year.. You'd have better off keeping Matt Clement, who also was overrated by the Cubs fans.. Mark Mulder is what the Cardinals need, Carpenter had a great comeback year last year but he got injured, Suppan and Marquis were lucky last year IMHO, and Morris is injured as of now and not the pitcher he was a few years back.. Ankiel is being a baby in Puerto Rico, or just being cautious, and had to come home early.. You talk like all Cardinals fans overrate their staff. I, for one, thought they overachieved but if they do it this year again and have solid years then I'll start believing they are solid pitchers.

 

BTW, yes Rolen didnt show up..

 

Let's face it, before you can even use the word choke and Cardinals in the same sentence, be sure to remember the real Cardinals never showed up and that was quite obvious. Boston was a better team and the hottest team right then.

I don't know about Johnson... but Pavano's personality can basically handle anything. I don't think he'll be fazed at all by the New York media. He's just cool and collected like that. If he blows, it will have little to do with the New York pressure.

New York pressure has messed with a lot of guys who "proved they were clutch" earlier in their career before heading to the Yankees.
