February 8, 200521 yr JJ has the most range of any shooter in the country....bar none. The guy can consistently pull up from the mid point between the half court and three point lines and hit it. Redick is also the best for his ability to come off screens and be set in the air...no one has his form. Plavich is overrated because he is almost putrid inside that three point arc and basically his only game is the three. He is good but Id but him 5th o na top 5 list. Percentages are dumb too...they are skewed by how many you take and such. 680138 what is this "bar none" s***?..... did you even see the link I showed you?... No doubt Redick makes them far out as well but I doubt he shoots them further out than Plavich. And how is Plavich overrated? All I said was he was the best 3 point shooter in college, not that he was the best SG. 680273 I'll see his one game and raise you 20
February 8, 200521 yr Author please. unfortunately I cant argue with you because you are a Duke homer dont take that the wrong way, but its true
February 8, 200521 yr I think possibly some confusion is resulting from the different claims made in the thread title and in the actual post. Mav, are you saying he's the best 3 point shooter in the country? Or that he has the best range? If it's the first one, I think you're clearly wrong about that. If it's the second, you may be right, who knows...but it doesn't really matter from how far you can consistently chuck it. Better to make 54% from right behind the line than 35% from 40 feet away, even if that guy shooting 54% can't even hit the rim from 40 feet.
February 8, 200521 yr Author I think he has the best range, is the best shooter and will be the best shooter out of this bunch in the NBA(if he even makes it, which he should because of his shot)
February 8, 200521 yr I think he has the best range, is the best shooter and will be the best shooter out of this bunch in the NBA(if he even makes it, which he should because of his shot) 680300 Alright, I don't see how you could possibly argue this guy over Salim, though...

February 8, 200521 yr please. unfortunately I cant argue with you because you are a Duke homer dont take that the wrong way, but its true 680278 Because I wont bow down and take Plavich as the best three point shooter? When has Plavich ever almost single handedly brought his team back against a top 5 squad just on his three point shot? Or in the 2003 ACC Tournament final when he hit a three from 3 steps in from the half court line? I hate to bring up percentages...but Redick his 43% where Plavich hits 39. You go bonkers that Plavich hits 8 three pointers....but Redick did that this year in only 11 shots to Plavich's 17. From ESPN.com's bio on him... Possesses range that borders on unreal Im not downplaying what Plavich does, those shots are just sick...but I see Redick do this night in and night out...it just is downplayed because that is what he always does. As for being a Duke homer...why should I have to agree with you and not think that Redick, just because the guy is who I think is the best three point shooter is on Duke, that makes me a homer? If you asked who was the best SG...I would not have said Redick. Best player? Nope 2nd coming of Christ? Not really. So everytime you defend the Marlins or Indiana you are a 100% biased Marlins/Hoosier homer? Not really.

February 8, 200521 yr 1. Ramp, if you think Plavich is going to make it in any regard in the NBA, you need to work on talent evaluation. 2. Ramp, if you think Plavich is a better 3 point shooter than Stoudamire, you need to work on talent evaluation. 3. Passion, Plavich's shots inside the arc have nothing to do with the "best THREE POINT SHOOTER in the country" argument. and 4. Passion, I don't care how good their range is, percentages are everything in shooting because they depict how many shots ACTUALLY GO IN. That is all

Salim Stoudamire has as much range and is a better shooter, as evident by his 54% 3P shooter compared to Redick's 42%. Last week at halftime of an ESPN game the question was posed to all 3 studio announcers who would they rather have shooting the 3 at the end of the game for their team and all 3 took Stoudamire and also mocked Redick's shot selection. As far as range goes, there are many with his range. Stoudamire, Horner, Palvich, hell even Bracey Wright from IU can bomb them for halfway between halfcourt. As far as shot selection goes, it is part of the game Passion. Deal with it and quit making excuses like a baby.

February 8, 200521 yr anybody remember this guy (i know as a Duke fan I sure hated him.......) He had sick range and put up these #s from the 3 point line there are his stats ... hit 267 threes in his 3 year career MIN FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG TPG BPG SPG PPG 92-93 Arkansas 28.7 46.5 44.2 80.0 4.4 2.2 1.7 0.3 1.6 17.4 93-94 Arkansas 29.0 46.9 42.9 73.2 4.5 3.0 1.5 0.3 1.4 15.9 94-95 Arkansas 32.1 45.8 42.7 78.1 3.9 2.3 2.0 0.1 1.4 15.4 6-6 shooter ....... didn't last a minute in the league

That is all 680397 3) My B 4) Then throw Plavich out of the equation...because he has a lower percentage than Redick. It is impossible to calculate or prove who has the best range...so Im going to stop as should you all.... As for how many go in Redick has made 73 and Stoudamire has made 68...Redick has played two less games. So you are saying that how many shots go in are everything in shooting...Redick wins that argument as well. Aaron Miles has made 19 of 25 three pointers this season....a 57% average from beyond the arc...so again, by your arguments, Miles is the best 3-point shooter in the country? Explain that to me. Stoudamire is simply playing 2nd fiddle to him. As for The Fan - please find one place in here where I have even mentioned shot selection? Go into any thread on Duke on this board and I have called out Redick many times for poor shot selection. (I know you wont do this, but its available to you). And if you go by every note from the mouths of ESPN analysts that really shows your knowledge of the game...please note that most analysts are coaches that were fired, washed up players, and pretty faces. Can you form an opinion on your own? As for calling me a homer, bitch, blah blah, please post some actual knowledge or insight rather than typing an insult or regurgitating what others have already said...it wont happen, but it is atleast a try.

Try your best, I know it's hard for you but please try. You are being a copout and not acting even worthy of an argument. As for your argument of percentages being overrated, that ties into the theme of shot selection. There you go chief.
February 9, 200521 yr Plavich video from Saturday vs Cincy the 2nd shot is Plavich and he shoots a few long bombs in the 2nd half... just look where he is shooting the ball from 679978 Holy crap That's ridiculous
February 9, 200521 yr Anthony Roberson has a pretty sweet 3 point shot...But only when he's open. He tends to clench-up when there is someone in his face. Also, Von Waffer ( )
