February 9, 200521 yr Crap.. i forgot Fick can play catcher.. add that to 1B and the OF PLUS he's left handed and has some pop.. we seriously need to try and get him.
February 9, 200521 yr Robert Fick 2004 Stats: 45-226 (5 2B, 6 HR) .199 BA, .277 OBP 22 BB, 36 K As a PH: .261 BA (6-23), .393 OBP, 1 HR, 3 2B, 4 RBI If was cheap, maybe. But do we need a 1B off the bench? Delgado, Conine, Easley, even Harris can all play first.

That was when Niner was hurt, I believe.

Plus the whole left-handed thing is a plus. If we could add Fick, would there be a need for Treanor or DeFelice? I mean, if we get Fick, a duo of Willingham and Fick behind the plate as the backup catcher would be pretty nice.. plus the fact they can each play other positions is a bonus as well. If we could add Fick, we could have a bench of: Encarnacion - LF/CF/RF Fick (L) - C, 1B, LF/RF Easley - 1B, 2B, 3B, SS Delgado (S) - 2B, 3B, SS Willingham - C, 1B, 3B, LF/RF That gives us a very nice depth at every position and two guys who swing a pretty good LH bat in Fick and WDelgado. Well.. hopefully they are exploring that idea.
February 9, 200521 yr I got to watch a lot of D-Rays games last year and Fick would be a great addition to our bench. While it pains me to say this, i'd definitely call his number in place of Lenny.
February 9, 200521 yr Nen use to be a solid closer until he got hit with the injury bug. I would say sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal which he'd probably sign because he isn't getting much interest. My Bro's fav. team is SF so I remember seeing what he can do. He is pretty solid when healthy IMO.
February 9, 200521 yr I dont think that we can ever have too much depth in the bullpen or off the bench so why not try and sign somebody at a cheap price if the opportunity comes around.

He may be able to pull off somehting similar to fox, who no one wanted b/c of injury. And if he flops its only a minor league deal
