MLB Extra Innings vs. MLB.TV

Featured Replies

I live in Dallas and last year I purchased the season pass for MLB Extra Innings. On this site I here a lot of people talking about MLB.tv. Which would you guys recommend and why? Thanks for the help!

MLB.tv has a 30 second delay or so, but that is what I get at school and at home I usually go to friends houses to watch games or listen on the radio. Just depends if you would prefer to sit in front of a comp screen or tv. If I could I would definitely go TV.

Extra Innings is much better. Every once in a while, MLB.TV freezes and you miss some of the action. If price is no issue, I would go with Extra Innings.

They are really similar and offer most Marlins games. There should be no blackout in Dallas unless they play the Rangers (or possibly the Astros) or if the Marlins are on ESPN or FOX4 (which you can get anyways)

Obviously Extra Innings is better. Quality is much better and you can watch on your TV. Computers aren't usually in a comfortable place to watch.

However, mlb.tv is much cheaper. If you go for mlb.tv, go for the MSN deal. Sign up for MSN Premium (which comes with Mlb.tv) and get 3 months free so you only pay for th elast 3 months of the season ($9.99/mo).

How much is MLB Extra Innings?

Here it's about $150 for the whole season, but if you sign up early it's only about $130.

Thanks!

Thats not a bad price at all :thumbup

Just keep in mind that PAX games (at least last year) were blacked out from MLB Extra Innings, so you miss something like 1/3 of the marlins games.

Usually they would take the other side's broadcast. In the past MLB Extra Innings could only televise games that aired on a Regional Sports Network such as FSN, Comcast SportsNet, YES, NESN, RSTN, etc.

I heard there may be a change this year as the owners may allow the Extra Innings package to finally air over-the-air broadcasts.

My parents arent very big on baseball like I am...so they never get the extra innings...but this year I asked for it as one of my graduation presents....there was no way they could say no!! :D :p :cool

i ordered it last season(extra innings), and i was blacked out every game... :banghead

i live in tallahassee, which i assume is the problem..does anyone know how i can get the games up here??
