February 11, 200521 yr Exactly what year did the Marlins change the color of the hat from teal to black? I'm trying to find a throwback marlins cap.
February 11, 200521 yr Author That little database fails to recognize the teal jerseys and the current black jerseys.
February 11, 200521 yr I still have a couple old school Fish caps. I used to have like 10 of them, but moving helped me fix that problem :mad . Anyway, I have the gray WS hat, and the gray WS shirt. Also have the '97 shirt... In fact, I have the original teal t-shirt. And actually, I have all the players' cards from '93. Luis Aquino, baby. Yorkis Perez
February 11, 200521 yr I remember Sheff, Leiter, Renteria, and the rest of the team wearing teal hats during some games in 1997. 1997 according to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. 682395[/snapback]
February 11, 200521 yr I treasure my all-teal cap and look forward to seeing teal in the stands. But, now what I see mostly is band-wagon black. And that doesn't show up the way the defiant teal does. Also have another favorite cap. Thanks to another member's heads-up, I bought two (for $5.) grey WS hats (I think they were called "locker room hats.") Really cool. I added (from last month's sale) a really sharp grey WS T-shirt (forget how much but less than $10. with shipping.)

The black cap always existed as an "alternate" cap with the official uniform cap being "Teal" at home and "Teal with Black Bill" on the road. In 1995, the Marlins adopted the "Black" cap at home and the "Teal with Black Bill" on the road, and then in 1997 went with "black" at home and away. Therefore, the "black" cap actually replaced the "teal" cap in 1995. 1993-1994 Uniform 1995-1996 uniform 1997-2003 uniform
February 11, 200521 yr the marlins changed to black as the primary color at the end of the 1996 season, which meant they would wear black caps and undershirts. the marlins lettering on the chest was still teal until loria changed the uniforms in 2003. FUNNY- BOTH YEARS AFTER THE UNIFORMS CHANGED WE WON THE WORLD SERIES! LET'S CHANGE THEM AGAIN!
